The Consumers Report LTX results. FYI

For the curious, here is a brief summary of the Consumers Report 11/2004 study of SUV/Light Truck Tires (All season). 22 tires tested. Highest rated brand: Goodyear. Lowest rated brand: B.F.Goodrich. The tested Michelin LTX M/S was rated 17th out of the 22 tested tires. As you know, CR uses a series of colored dots to indicate the rating. From solid red, the best, (I'll call a 5 to solid black, the worst,(I'll call a 1).

Dry braking: 1 Wet braking: 3 Handling: 3 Hydroplaning: 4 Rolling resistance: 4 Snow traction: 5 Ice braking: 3 Ride: 3 Noise; 3

Offered FYI only. No editorial comments included.
:-)

Ed Glad to get rid of the Firebooms.
So far I have 7 miles on the new Goodyear 647's. So far, so good.
I'll let you know if my opinion changes over time.

Thanks, Ed, for the summary.  Did the article specify which LTX model was tested (i.e. A/S, A/T, M/S, etc.)?
