Hi, Gang,

Greetings from the Navy Submarine Base at Kings Bay, GA.  We arrived here today on our rather leisurely wandering southward to FL for the winter.  It's taken us 3 weeks to get this far from home in MA. (OK, Steve K. - let me have it! ).

We just enjoyed about 10 glorious days at Edisto Beach SP, SC.
The weather was fantastic - 60's and 70's.  Too bad that couldn't last a little longer.

Saw our first LD of the trip this morning - but they didn't see us, despite our flashing lights.  They were just turning to go onto I-95 west of Brunswick GA about 1050 AM.  Anyone from the Group?

Our LD is doing great.  We had one slight problem which took a couple of days to figure out - an apparently intermittent slow tire leak.  Turns out the inner valve spring was loose, and it was intermittent depending upon how tight I tightened the metal cap when I was checking it.  As luck would have it, there was an auto parts place within sight of where we had stopped and I bought a little 4- way valve tool for $1.65 that solved the problem.

Communications is greatly improved this year: we now have high- speed cellphone connectivity and most recently, a Wi-Fi card.
That's what I'm using tonight at Kings Bay; it's great being able to get caught up on the Group.  I'm learning that lots of hotel chains have free Wi-Fi hotspots, so during the day when we're traveling, I'll pull into a parking lot, log in and check email.

We'll finally arrive at our first FL destination on Wednesday - Gamble Rogers SRA in Flagler Beach, where we'll be CG Hosts til the end of January.  We'll be watching for LD's!  C'mon and pay us a visit.

Hi Ted,

At Gambel Rogers I'll want to see that apron and hear all about Edisto Beach as we plan to stop there, or at James Island County Park near Charleston on the way north in May.
I wonder if those hotels know that a non-registered person is logged onto their network - and worry about it. Just the nervous side of me inquiring. While looking at Joan's list of Cybercafes I noticed they all charge around $6-8 an hour which is pretty expensive compared to the $6-8 for 24 hours found in many private RV parks.

See you in January.
