Computing, WSJ and MONEY

Hello!

Got your attention? :>)

I've got questions; did I check the FAQs?  You betcha!  Did I find the answers?  Most of them.

Here are the rest.  Given the recent discussions about firewalls, spyware and browsers, do you all feel secure enough with these software products to have your portfolios accessible online and do research with that sort of financial info?  I assume that access to brokerage accounts are as secure as it gets.  What I am considering, in addition to accessing my brokerage account, is the Wall Street Journal Online edition, both for literate news reporting, "news I can use" info and the research and online tracking of securities. This obviously requires listing them.  Not that I am a whiz, but a brokerage account is only one opinion and the WSJ is another - and I now have more time to do it.   Do any of you use the WSJ Online edition for this purpose?

Another tool for security that I didn't see discussed is a router, but as I understand it, this is mainly for those with a cable connection which is always "on" as opposed to a dial up connection.
Does this analysis change with Wi-Fi connections?

BTW, my news criteria: Wall Street Journal - when I want to read something intelligent and am in the mood to care about it.

USA Today - when there is rain and I need a TV guide.  I don't need a pie chart to explain to me what 33% of something "looks" like.  I get it.

Looking Outside - when I'm not in the mood to be bothered with anything and just want to know if people are running down the street with their hands waving in the air. If so, I'll check in.
