Has anyone painted over the wallpaper in their lazy daze? How did it go? Any advice? Sue & Ron

I did. Wiped the walls with rubbing alcohol first to get off all accumulated grease, then painted with regular satin-finish interior latex paint. Worked fine, and looks much better than the old 1985 bamboo pattern wallpaper!

Hi Sue & Ron, I tried a spot first and left it a couple of weeks without any deterioration of the wall paper so went ahead and painted the rest with "Kilz" and it still looks good. In the spring it will get a coat of paint on top of that. The pattern shows through but that's OK with me, it brightens the area up.
Good luck, Donna 94 RB

What is Kilz? Won't regular paint keep the pattern from showing through? Sue

Kilz is a primer that, among other features, "kills" mildew spores.

If I were painting over wallpaper, I would do the following:

1. Remove all the wallpaper possible; if it peels off easily, strip  it.  If not, leave it.
2. Wash the wallpapered areas with a mild TSP solution to remove  dirt and grease; let dry thoroughly.
3. Apply the primer Kilz per instructions.
4. Paint. (You might need two coats.)

I'm *real* glad LD got away from using wallpaper in their coaches!;-)
