Need help finding selling value of 2021 MB
Friends,

Our last trip in LD will end on 9/27 in NJ. As I mentioned LD was a proof of concept and it worked better than my imagination and prepared us to go international. I will be busy Oct with medical treatment followed by a series of international trips invluding cruising and renting motor home. I am waiting for Cumins X10 engine avsilability in late 2025 and and will order my new vehicle then and I know it will take about a year to be ready.

Does not make sense to just park motohome for three years if I will not be using it and beyond three years there is lot of uncertinity on how much I will travel in US/Canada. There are at least two occasions folks reach me but I had no clue about the price and poor folks thought I was not serious in selling.

So 2021 LD which does not have any known defect and have 42K miles, have all the record and maintained and driven well and have extented factory warrenty and I think some coachnet coverage should be remaining. I added few things to make it work easy for me but no significant visible change as we knew we will be selling it in few years. As for additions, we got everything factory offered except for settelite dish and added two additional batteries and blue tooth battery monito along with 400 ah lithium parallel circuit and dc-dc charger. Other major addition was big foot leveling system and I opted for expensive package with four independent cylinders. There are few other things in and i do have all the records. There is a short clip for inside and outside ....I will fill out the official form, just want to know how much I should ask for the motorhome .....

Please send me a private message I have no idea what the value should be ... should be old table when inflation was negligible is still be used? I know new LD will be very close to ... whatever ..digress as usual.

Thanks in advance

Edit: forgot about steps. They are functional but need to be come out and two outside plates need to be straighten out. On my to do list but not sure if I will have the chance ...

First, are you absolutely sure you won’t want to go out again while waiting on the next RV to be built?   Yes, being based in New Jersey is tougher to do short trips.   I’m having a devil of a time planning next week’s New England adventure.

I agree, it’s better to sell now rather than let it sit idle for three years.

The used market is definitely down, post pandemic glut of used RVs.

Fall is a tough time to sell, people want to use their new toy, not wait around six months.

Laze Daze is a strong brand, but primarily on the west coast.  Being an orphaned brand doesn’t help either, expertise on features unique to LD is primarily on the west coast.

Add ons don’t add much value when selling, maybe 1k for the levelers, but only if the buyer wanted them in the first place.   I’ve seen your electrical improvements, I don’t think they add any value as they aren’t well integrated (I know they worked well for your needs)

You have a lot on your plate in the next 12 months, if you want the RV sold quickly with minimal effort, I would go with the price of a 2018 base MB price according to the guide, ignoring any extras you added at the mothership or post purchase.   Allows you to point to the guide so the buyer knows they are getting a good deal.

I just sold my cherished convertible two weeks ago for about $3000 less than market value because I haven’t used it being on the road so much in the RV, and I wanted it gone quickly.   I had ten good years with it, and there is satisfaction that it’s now in the hands of a new enthusiast.

That’s what I would do with your MB, price it to be sold quickly, freeing up your time and passing it onto the next enthusiast with a bit of karma for yourself.

Wish I could have added a NJ detour while in southern Connecticut at the end of the month,  but I’m already tempting Mother Nature enough with Wyoming in November.  Regardless of what you decide, I’ll miss not meeting up with you on the road next year.

Thanks Dave.

So how it work x% per year? In my case it would be 4x% of around 120K I paid. Did I get it right? What is x value?

As for keeping it for trips in US, it is very possible. It is very difficult to part from solid companion. I still have a long list of places I want to go and I know once LD is gone I will not get it back. Other issue is as long as I have LD I will not take serious step towards next stage (this also beg the question, do i really need to go beyond US, Canada and Baja) ....

Let me sit on it .... I sure will feel differently few weeks after the trip.

I picked 2018 MB literally as the best guess price, it’s three years removed from your 2021, which is now three years old.

As to owning a RV for beyond North America travels, only you can determine if the build time and effort is worth it to you guys.

For me personally, even after Alaska & Newfoundland, I have plenty of places remaining to visit over the next 10 years.  I would like to do a RV trip in France, but not enough to buy one over there.

You might consider putting it for sale on an auction site like bring a trailer.
With Lazy Daze being out of business and used LD's rare you might be surprised
what people will pay for one these days.

That's an idea. Never sold anything on ebay or Craigslist will be a good experience.

Dave,
As for France or Europe I can easily do it in Eurorail. For the price of expedition vehicle I can stay for nice places for rest of my life. Issue is going to Africa, mongolia, afganistan etc. I took six month round the world cruise and stayed in tourist bubble took years of group tours in all over the world but difference I saw with independent expedition I experienced since I have LD is a different tier. This is the reasoning of your original msg of holding on to LD till have expedition vehicle in my hand.
There are overlanding expedition tours lasting months in every part of the world but I am too old to sit on the truck for 14 hours and am spoiled to be not able to make a turn when I see an interesting oppertunity. We do not need expensive expedition vehicle, a reliable truck (I will suggest Toyota tundra list at 45K but making it expedition ready will be close to 65K) and put 65K four wheel or similar camper. With roof down you can put it in a container and not sure you are aware tundra have same base as legendary land Cruiser..... of course my wife will not like this setup :-)

I would like to upgrade to a newer 26.5 MB someday, but don't have the excess cash at this time. I bet someone does though.
If it was me, I would consider keeping it. Might be hard to ever get something like that again.

You are right .... it is difficult to let LD go but I thought selling LD is the first step for next phase but then I look at the map and places in North American continent I want to see and Dave is right, it will keep me busy for rest of my life. I can go out and try different models at different parts of the world and keep LD for US/Canada/Baja and have comfortable long outings in US. I am trying a different model in NZ early next year, which will give me freedom of motohome without insurance or shipping hassle, let see how it works out. I am not rushing to sell LD, there may be a better way to continue to enjoy the freedom of this beautiful country and explore outside as well. It may not be mutually exclusive as I thought. Only issue is keeping motorhome idle for months may create few issues and I will deal with it if it happen.

Team,
I did not get any definative answer. If 10% reduction per year means 40% in four year means 40% off 120K. I will not worry about small items I put in and simply use the puchase price as base to calculate . Do 120*.6 = 72K sound reasonable for four year old 27 ft Mid Bath?

I will be travelling internationally starting in four weeks and want to price for quick sell, should I price it lower? Except for steps ther is no other cosmetic or mechanical issues I am aware of.

If somebody is interested, my signature has my youtube channel and it has inside and outside video. This iss 2021 27 MidBath. Reason for I am putting order for expedition vehicle and LD is ready for new home.

I never thought I will be selling this LD and never paid attention where the form is. Can somebody point me to the form. I will fill out the form and post formal advertisement here.

I thought about input about Craiglist and Ebay, I do not have energy to deal with lot of non interesting parties. This may be a big purchase for lot of folks, but hope folsk here know what they are getting in and perhaps it will be easy for me to sell. Price is secondry for me right now. If my calculation is spitting out higher number, please let me know, I want to price it fair. I have no idea what the real price shuold be.

Regards,

Hi Muhammad. I won’t comment how a member prices their rigs but you could, as a comparison, look at similar year and length class C’s on RV Trader to see what the competition is. Most folks in your neck of the woods probably aren’t familiar with the Lazy Daze brand so you’ll want to educate potential buyers of the LD quality compared to the mass-produced RV’s.  You will probably get a better price if you sell in the Spring, rather than the end of the season.  Best of luck!

We have a local NE chapter as well and I coppied the advertisement there as well ... as for quality, I see the folks passing by the campsite and then their neck rotate to look at the motorhome again. Lazy Daze shows its quality hope I will not have to sell the quality. I simply never looked at the preowned motorhomes market and not sure what the real value is and am struggling on this part. Thanks for the pointer about selling in Spring .... already posted to LD community and if does not work out I may goto rv trader in spring, issue is it will take more time and I am woundering if it is worth it.
