More Light
I replaced the little light I had in front of the closet-drawer hallway with a nice bright one. Much better to see what's in those drawers.

I was reading up on WAGO connectors after I bought some.  One caveat mentioned was that if they get jostled in the wall, the flip lock could get dislodged and the wire slip out.   Recommendation was to wrap them in electrical tape so they didn't accidentally get flipped.  Haven't used any yet but as a belt-and-suspenders security nerd, it sounds attractive.

I’ve used nothing but Wagos for the mods I’ve done two years ago, none have failed in 27,000 miles since, over some bumpy roads up and down from Alaska, and some pretty rough roads in eastern Canada too.   Antidotal to be sure.   Sure you could wrap a Wago, if you don’t mind it becoming sticky when you work with it again.

I wouldn’t mind a much brighter central light in the rig, gotta link to the light used?

Sure! They are perfect for an area that you want really bright but not for reading or general comfort areas. For example, I plugged the escape hatch and installed the same fixture there to light up the bunk area which we use only for storage.

Re Wagos, I use them everywhere. Replaced all the wirenuts I could find with Wagos. You take a messy 3 or 4 wire wirenut and instead have a nice clean and organized wire layout. You can also use them for 120v stuff. Regarding taping them up, I really don't think that is necessary as they they do snap lock into place and I haven't seen any come open.

My 'source' for taping was an electrician dealing with 120V junction boxes with several wires crammed in. Later work could jostle them and maybe come loose.  I once 'lost' an outside outlet after taking off an  outlet cover when painting a little-used bathroom.  6 neutrals for the GFCI circuit were stuffed into a single termination.  Took a while to track that down. Maybe that made me a bit sensitive.  ;)

I've ran into quite a few instances where Lazy Daze stuffed a bunch of wires under one red wire nut and low and behold a loose wire sneaks' out. The Wago fastener is way more secure. The electrical parts houses have a great selection these days.

The WAGO style I use is not a WAGO brand, but the levers take a lot of force to open, and I can't recall a box so crowded I'd be concerned about accidently opening a lever.

Those look sturdy, Eric. What brand are they? How about a link? Thanks.

JOR, Does yours dim like the link suggests?  Or is it still the wrong kind of light in reading areas?

I’m not sold on these alternative lever connectors, even if their levers clamp harder than the name brand WAGOs.

Why?

The actual WAGOs are clear, I can visually verify I have inserted the wire enough, and the lever made good contact with the wires, as well as I can visually see things are good connection wise at a later date, no evidence of arcing, etc.    Very useful for an admitted wiring amateur.

This visibility is one of the prime advantages over old style wire nuts too.

All good points, Dave. I'll stick with clear Wago connectors.

The new, clear style is also 40% smaller than their older 222 style (same style I've been using, which is a different brand). That's nice feature in the occasional crowded box.
