Battery booster recommendation
Hi All,
I need to buy a battery booster.  All the messages I see on the forum are a number of years old.  I'm sure there must be more - and better? - available today.  Appreciate any recommendations.

Do you mean something to keep the chassis battery topped off? Is this when in covered storage without solar panels? With solar installed, typically a line to charge to the chassis battery is added to the solar charge controller.

Or a battery booster for starting with a weak or dead battery?
I have used this for almost three years, it has been used twice in the last two weeks. it's large enough to start a V10.

For charging a battery, these devices will work fine as long as the charge rate is 10 amps or lower. 
They probably will not charge your LD's starting battery since most LDs have had the dash cigarette lighter plugs rewired to the coach battery instead of the starting battery as in normal passenger in passenger cars.

There is confusion here since Susie has not indicated what kind of battery booster she is referring to and needs...a portable battery jumper to start a dead battery or a 120 VAC powered battery charger for charging a weak battery.

I am really impressed by what these little battery boosters will do.  I have several (Weego and others) and have given them to my children for emergencies.

Several months ago, a contractor brought a big diesel dump truck pulling a tractor to my house to do some work.  The truck refused to start after he finished his work.  I took the little battery booster from the Jeep, not the big one in the Lazy Daze, and after several attempts, got the diesel started in his truck.

Amazing little device.

I have the same NOCO battery booster (in case I ever get an opportunity to buy a LD!!).  My daughter’s Nissan Sentra battery died last Winter and he comes Dad with his NOCO. Took just couple minutes to hook up and wha-La started right up!!  Very impressive but overkill for a Nissan.

My apologies for the delay in responding.  And thanks for all your responses so far.

My situation is this...
My husband restored cars, and cars, and cars, and when he died last fall we had 14 vehicles.  For years he kept them up and drove them regularly, but was unable to do so the last 3 years.  And I wasn't able to get over to the RV most of last year.  Most of the cars (mostly '90s-era Jags) were on trickle chargers and some start now.  But I've had to replace 3 batteries so far - and all three in the RV.  They were all down enough that they wouldn't turn over or wouldn't hold a charge.
Two of the replacements were batteries I bought about 3 weeks ago from the AAA guy - one in a car and one for the RV engine.  I drove both of them 40-60 miles on the new batteries, but haven't put any miles on them for the past 3-4 weeks.  When I tried to start the car a couple days ago, it wouldn't turn over.  The AAA battery guy used a booster and got it started again but he told me that their batteries regularly only had 2-3 weeks reserve time before they ran down again.  I haven't been able to get over to the RV yet to see if it is still "startable," but I'm planning for the worst. 

I've always planned to buy a booster but just haven't gotten around to it up to now.  Frankly, I'm really spoiled.  When we bought the LazyDaze in 2015, we put an Optima battery in it.  Worked like a charm even when it sat untended for several weeks at a time until just a few weeks ago.

I was looking at the Noco GBX75 since it seems rated for 8.5 liter engines or the GBX55 rated for 7.5 liters. Seemed like it might be wise to get the larger one but I don't know. 

Thanks for your suggestions and if anyone's interested in buying a Jag, TR7, Lincoln Town Car, or Corvette, keep me in mind.   :D

There are altogether too many different Noco models ... most confusing.  Thanks, Larry.  Went with your recommendation.  Looks more what I really need.

Just a thought, Susie: there are online clubs for fans of Jaguars, Triumphs, Corvettes, and the like. When you're ready to sell, those would be the first places I'd look for buyers. Their members love the vehicles, and know what they're worth.

Hi Susie:  Your 2007 MB should have come with one solar panel, possibly two.  (85 Watt each)  If the house batteries are fully charged up, you could just use jumper cables from your own house batteries, to charge up the chassis battery, and start the engine.  In this application the Trik-L-Start (if you can find one) is perfect for keeping the chassis battery in 'start up' condition, as a permanent installation under the hood.

 to connect your batteries while the engine is running.   The solar panel can keep all of the batteries up, while the rig is just sitting.
    If you have the BlueSky Solar Boost R3000i solar charge controller (red LED display) you may already have what you need. The factory provided a connection from the auxlliary output of the R3000i to your chassis battery to keep it charged up.   RonB

Thanks, Andy.  As a matter of fact, we've managed to sell 2 TR8s, one to a gentleman in KY who found out 3rd or 4th hand via the Triumph Club.  As soon as I can get the rest of the Jags out, smogged, & pics taken we'll definitely be putting the word out via the Jag clubs.

Ron,
Thanks to the previous owner's wife who spec'd out this LD, it has 2 100w panels on top.  I don't know about the diode/relay.  Will have to check the book - it's been much too long.  I do not have a Blue Sky controller though.

Unfortunately, the storage area where I park it does not have electric close by where I can plug in a trickle charger.  My husband had put a couple mini solar panels  (about 5"x8") on the TR parked there that served as a trickle charger but they died of old age.

Am charging up the Noco booster now.  I won't be able to get to the RV til next week, but hopefully it will start up, and if not, got my handy dandy booster at the ready!
