Haze on rear window November 12, 2023, 05:27:47 pm Preparing my LD for storage. I noticed this haze on my rear window. It appears to be on the inside of the outside glass.When I purchased my Lazy Daze the rear window at some point and been broken and replaced with a piece of tinted Lexan.about three or four years ago I purchased a new window with frame from the mothership before they closed. It was installed by Camping world. Any ideas what could be causing the hazing? Re: Haze on rear window Reply #1 – November 12, 2023, 06:17:59 pm Hello Mark,From looking at the photo that was in the post earlier, it looks like a “fogged” window. As you probably know, fogged windows are caused when the seal between the 2 panes leak allowing in moisture. Common on most if not all RVs with this type of windows. Unfortunately, it’s a yuck kind of issue.

The owner I purchased it from had apparently broken the original window.I didn't notice until I was washing the rig and noticed this was not glass but very dark Lexan.I purchased a new window and frame from the mothership. It was installed by Camping World.This is the first time this moisture has appeared.

Re: Haze on rear window Reply #6 – November 13, 2023, 10:30:34 am Moisture between the frames IS the fogging. The window is made of 2 panes of glass with a seal between them. When the seal is in good shape, the dry gas trapped between the panes has no moisture. When the seal breaks, moist air can enter the space between the 2 panes. When that air cools, the moisture condenses.Most of my windows have some degree of fogging. I'd like to get it fixed, but I haven't found a great local solution that I am confident about. I liked it well enough that I may go that way if I ever need to. Hard way to fix a Rear Window Leak Both his rig and mine are are E350's and 6" narrower than your E450. I don't know if your window is wider than ours but I liked him removing those little side windows. I have hit the little window with my toes using the ladder, so maybe Lazy Daze put those small windows in so that in case just the small one got damaged, it could be replaced easier.RonB

So your IB has smaller windows and they will cost less to replace. You can see the separate panes on Craig P's rear window that he broke. Hard way to fix a Rear Window Leak You might still try his vendor. That company might have better windows than the ones Lazy Daze were getting. Can't say that those windows have a very good track record so far. RonB

When I purchased my LD I did not notice the rear window had been replaced with dark tinted Lexan. Apparently the previous owner had damaged or broken the original window.I ordered a new window with frame from the mothership. The window is only 4 or 5 years old. It was installed by Camping World.It was not cheap to replace the window. If I decide to sell it I will not replace it again.

So the larger window, as shown on the twin bed configuration, would be more expensive. The comment about Camping World; I've had bad luck with the one in my area. I have been assured though that each individual store is dependent on the management of that store and it isn't company wide. The one here moved from El Cajon to San Marcos. Both about equidistant. But has now moved to Temecula into Riverside county. Much farther away. RonB 1 Likes

Back in the Nineties, their front desk went way out of their way to be helpful with a large purchase I made. And their service department did an excellent job of installing a new stove in my 1985 Twin/King, did it in just two hours despite the need for carpentry to make it fit, and did it at a bargain price.On the other hand, their service department also twice screwed up my rig's plumbing when winterizing, resulting in disastrous leakage and flooding each time. Likewise, back in 2012 the Camping World service department in Albuquerque took two days to install that same model stove in my 2003 Midbath, did a lousy job of it, and tried to grossly overcharge me.*Given that Camping World's prices are almost always higher than anybody else's, their service is not reliable, and they keep hard-selling various club memberships, I won't go there unless--as in Nadaze's case--there really is no alternative.* As I recall, they used less than six feet of 1x4 oak, but billed me for eight feet of 1x12! 2 Likes
