Any Recommended products for water-damaged wood drawer under kitchen sink?
It’s been this way since I bought LD from original owner 2+ years ago.   Any suggestions for protecting wood from further damage (other than trying to keep it dry!)and/or a little touch up?
Thanks!

Mine were the same way. The original owner of my rig (2009 until last year) used it lightly and took very good care of it. Nevertheless, several of the drawers looked like yours. I don't know what the factory used as a finish but it is very poor quality. I painted mine. I guess you could sand, stain and urethane them.

You might give this product a try. I haven't used it on any of my LD cabinets but I used it extensively on cabinet doors/drawers, room doors and window trim all over my home with good results. If some of the areas are deeply stripped this product will not restore to like new but it will definitely improve the look. It is super easy to apply. I just put a small amount on a rag, wiped it on, waited a minute or so and wiped off. One bottle did many square feet of wood surface in my home and held up many years. Just be sure to get the color that matches your cabinets best.

LD did not stain the wood, they finished the cabinets with a thin layer of spray lacquer glazing. Once the glaze is worn or scratched, it's tough to match the original color without a lot of sanding and refinishing. Ideally when a rig is new, one would immediately add a couple of coats of clear polyurethane for protection. My hindsight is 20/20.

I'm interested in the Restorz-it performance, if someone tries it, let us know how well it works, we have drawers in the kitchen and bath with worn finishes that I keep looking at, trying to figure out how to improve the appearance..
For our LD's light maple cabinets, Minwax "Puritan Pine", #218 is a close match, originally found and suggested by Joan Taylor. It looks better but isn't a satisfactory repair.

Another issue with older cabinets and drawers is the lifting of the plastic simulated coating around the edges of the wood paneling inserts in the doors, one of the primary reasons why so many older LDs have painted cabinets and drawers.

Thanks everyone!
I could continuing  living with it, but think I’ll give the Restorz It a try one of these days — will let you know Larry! 😎
Now onto the more pressing issue of cleaning the toilet bowl seal — the bowl stopped holding water yesterday.    I replaced the seal just last year so hopefully a quick clean will do the trick!

Good thing your extended vacation in nearly over, then it's time to fix and repair all the stuff that broke on the trip.
With the water pump turned off, use a popsicle stick to clean the gap where the ball slides into.
White vinegar is good for soaking the seals, reducing and keeping the valve free of organic salt deposits.

I've found that Plumber's Silicone Grease on the ball and seal is helpful too.

I have used restores-it on older cabinets and wood in a home.
It looks better than using one of the products at the home improvement stores but it won’t look brand new.  It is the basic issue of matching the color - won’t match exactly.

One person working on one of our projects used paint (oil paint I believe) to paint in the wood grain with closely matching colors and that was near perfect.

When you are done there is spray on shellac that will give it protection, you want several coats.  And redo it every year (for a sticks and bricks kitchen used regularly).    I was introduced to this by a custom cabinet maker that did very nice work including restoring old custom cabinets.  An easy application for vertical/not flat surfaces like cabinets.
I think the brand he used was Zinsser
Clear Shellac Spray - available at the big home improvement stores, but I am not 100% sure on the brand.

Shellac is a fine finish for furniture.
For a long-lasting finish for our RVs, a polyurethane top coat will hold up much better than shellac. especially in the kitchen and bath. Water is hard on shellac, whereas polyurethane is more resistant to moisture.
The Mothership used a shellac finish that doesn't hold up well, most older rigs have moisture-damaged cabinet doors and drawers in the bath and kitchen, one reason why many older rigs have the interior repainted.
