Traveling light .
Well I was always proud of “ traveling light “ until I cleaned out the Mid-Bath today LoL. Everything on my trailer was in the motorhome. Good time to purge. Even though the new coach has way more storage.

We bought a 2017 Jayco 29mv GrayHawk which is 32’7” long with 2 slides. Only has 11,000 miles. My wife wanted something larger than our LD.

Myself I’m sure it won’t be as trouble free as the Lazy Daze has been. But on a positive note the cabinetry is very nicely made, it doesn’t have a rubber roof, it has 2 AC units which is huge here in Utah and the big refrigerator will be nice. I’m sure gonna miss the King bed though.

When driving the Jayco, how does it handel compared to the LD? Thank you in advance for an answer.

I won’t know until Thursday when we pick it up. It’s bought but owner wanted check to clear before we took it. Understandable being it’s 450 miles away in California. But being that it has 115,000 less miles than my Lazy Daze and having an upgraded suspension on the Jayco. I’m not sure it would be a fair comparison. I’m more concerned about it being a foot taller in the wind.

Congrats on ur Jayco.  You will love the full body paint.  I had that on my Phoenix Cruise and it shines wonderfully.

Yeah the full body paint was on my list of must have’s when my wife said she wanted a newer RV. Decals don’t do well where I live with the intense sun and UV index. I really like the Alcoa aluminum wheels too. Gives it a nice look.

Ok we picked it up this morning and drove it 200 miles home. The Jayco drives very nice for a big brick lol.
It doesn’t get sucked around as much when passing or getting passed by semi’s. But we hit thunderstorms in Utah coming home with gusty winds. Those winds push the Jayco around more than the LD. Probably the bigger profile is my guess. The extra gears in the Jayco were sure nice climbing the mountain to home. Both rigs drive nice but just a little different. The front seats of the Jayco are very plush and definitely more comfortable.

Thank you for the updates. Since LDs are no longer produced, it is good to hear about other RV manufacturers.

Jayco‘s and Newmar RV used to be made by Amish workers. However, I do not know if this is still correct.

Jayco has sold to Thor industries and I’ve heard the quality has slipped a little. My unit was built before Thor took over. I was told about 50% of the workers are still Amish.
