Slider Drawer Under Dinette
We've tried to store stuff in the compartment under the dinette but it's a pain. I installed a 21" slider drawer which looks like it will work great. I sawed an access hole to get to the area behind the slider but decided against using it as it's awkward to get and there is very little room anyhow.

Here's the drawer I used. Home Depot, 70 bucks: slider drawer)

Neat work, JOR!

I installed a very similar sliding shelf in a cabinet under the oven on my 30'IB. Accessing items stored there are now quite easy to reach.   ;)

We built a drawer there also.  Took awhile to figure our where the thumping noise was coming from after that. Finally found the drawer sliding out and bumping into the door.  We ended up putting a latch on it to hold it in closed location on travel days.  Simple hook and eye on the edge but it kept it from rolling back and forth and bumping the door.

Good tip. I'll keep an eye on it and be prepared with a latch. Please post a photo of your latch so I can knock it off. Thanks.

We tend to work on the KISS principal, simple and low tech. It works as a pantry drawer. The drawer is deep enough that nothing falls over the sides. We do lose some space but at least I don't have stuff lost in the back.

Thank You Jor and Theresa & Everett for your solutions.  We have a similar situation with our under dinette seat drawer in our 98~MB.  We installed a box slider drawer under the dinette seat and left the OEM door as installed a couple of years ago.  Soon after driving our 98~MB as we made turns the door would open and drawer would slide in and out as we turned.  We bunged it right away which has solved the problem so far but this fix is an unfinished job.  We have been looking for an easy latch solution.  The drawer slides are self keep closed models but did not do their job.  The hook and eye fix here shown could work but we would prefer a latch on the door so you don't have to bend over or crouch to get close to latch and latch the drawer.

When we installed the drawer under the dinette seat the exterior battery compartment on this model sticks up so drawer must be shorter to fit and leaves open space behind it.  We cut a doorway into the wall by the door step well to access that space.  It makes a great space for shoes etc, actually we put items that we can reach easily from the entry door while we are outside like our electric dog bone adapter etc.

Hi Liam; Just some musings about what I would do.  Put some cushioning foam on the back of the compartment door to hold the drawer in.  Then improve the latch using the same type as other doors my rig has, used by Lazy Daze.  This is that type. A bit of door surgery but it would match the type already there. Thanks Ron, That's the basic idea I was playing around with.  I also got these for our two Kitchen drawers and only need two so I could use the extra one on that under dinette door?

Hi Liam, If you already have them in another place, it will be easier for all if you stay with the same type of catch.  RonB

The main issue is that those latches I have will require some setup to drill/cut and fit them in the deep top rail of the door.  Fortunately all the top rails in the drawers are the same as the door.  I will post it when I get time to do it.

I have used this push to open latch for several years without problems to keep a tool box from pushing the door open

I'm likin' these latch suggestions. The deeper drawer is also intriguing.
