Reinstalling rubber toilet bowl gasket
While I was dumping I ran a hose through the bathroom window and into the toilet bowl to flush out the tank.  The end of the hose caught the lip of the rubber gasket that attaches to the bottom of the bowl and dislodged it.  Thankfully it didn't drop all the way into the tank and using some nitrile gloves I was able to fish it out.  Now comes the idiot LD owner part of the story...  Thinking that this was an easy task to reinstall the gasket, I spent the next hour fighting with the gasket using all kinds of colorful language but to no avail.  Before looking for help on the forum, I thought I'd follow my fathers sage advice and first read the instruction manual.

From LD Owners manual page 11...
Reinstall the gasket with the proper side up.  It is labeled "THIS SIDE UP" on one of the sides.  Install the gasket with the white ball valve in its normal closed position.  Push the black rubber seal down into the bowl opening on the coach aisle side first then continue pushing it down until its groove secures it back in place.  At this point the black rubber seal should be tight against the white ball valve all the way around.  Be sure the seal groove is completely engaged all the way around the opening or the seal will not hold water.  Add water into the bowl and verify that the seal is holding water.

Five minutes after reading the manual the rubber gasket was in place and the toilet is holding water.  Jheeze... I should have listened better to dear old dad.

Reading the instructions is always a good thing.
When jammed up and not knowing how to proceed, YouTube has saved me many times. Little we do to our motorhomes has not been done before and a video made.
Bet there is a multitude of videos showing how the gasket is installed.

Does anyone know the specific gasket brand and item number that I can easily obtain off Amazon? My toilet is in a 2002, with a Sealand Traveler porcelain toilet. Thanks for your help.

After having bad luck with off-brand of gasket kits, I now always use the Dometic kit.
Below is the kit I bought last year to fix our Dometic Traveler.

I lost track of my Dometic manual for the toilet and want to replace the seal. My rig is a 2015 MB. Is the seal the same on all the Domnetic toilets? I could go up to the rig and get the model number, but the rig is in a lot 50 miles away, and I am looking for an easier way to get the right part!!

Hi Shoes1and2; Welcome to the group, LDOG. There is one phillips head screw to remove the plastic shroud around the base. Under that shroud, in front is a white ID sticker on the pedestal. You should have a 510 Sealand Traveler toilet. I have an itty bitty freshwater leak from the vacuum breaker area at the back of the toilet, so I'll ask Larry about that as a recommendation for a part kit. My wand also was leaking, but a wad of rescue tape inside the head stopped that leak. So still wet behind and under. (sigh!) I will need to unclamp the porcelain bowl to get to that vacuum breaker. I'm sure it isn't the big o-ring on that part where it goes into the back of the porcelain at the top, so that leaves the flapper valve at the manifold breaker.  RonB
