It's averaging close to 40 MPG.He has had a lot of problems with the tow brake system, something you may want to look into before buying.According to Ford, the entire 2023 year's production has been ordered, buying one off a lot usually will have a large markup.Larry

Last 4 times we've ended up with a car that won't start and had to jump it. It does come to life as soon as we hook it up to the battery, but still...We are in Baja right now, will take it to the Ford dealer when we get back. It appears that for some reason the computer (s) are turning off. I've programed it for KM/hr here, but after being towed & jump starting, I have to reprogram the speedometer. As the salesman said the plug in Hybrid Escape and Maverick were similar technology, the Maverick may have the same problem.

Reply #37 – March 01, 2023, 09:41:21 pm Dynamic or regenerative... it's all the same!"The electric motor in your hybrid or electric car runs in two directions - one to drive the wheels and move the car, and the other to recharge the battery. When you lift your foot off the accelerator pedal and onto the brake, the motor swaps directions and starts to put energy back into the battery."My former and current Mobility Scooters both featured this regenerative type of braking. If you push the speed anywhere near maximum and then release the throttle you'd best be ready for a surprise. As soon as you stop accelerating the reversal of the electrical fields causes immediate braking until you are at a dead stop. The bonus is that the unused energy charges the battery at the same time. The same goes for coasting, just easing up on the accelerator has the same effect, only not as strong.
