Electronic Entry Door Lock November 25, 2022, 11:12:05 am Didn't find much on this in past threads. Anyone replaced the entry door lock with an electronic one? Mine's an 09. I'd like to do this if possible and I think I'll replace the compartment locks with latches that don't lock. Thanks.jor

I haven't been able to find any other e-locks that come close. That might be a fit for the newer LD door handles, although RVLock's fitment guide is the best thing to answer that. On my 2021, the gap between the door handle and the jam is too short and there is no calibration nut that I can see so I don't believe it will fit mine.

No experience with electronic locks. Why would you want non-locking exterior compartments? We carry items of value in the compartments that we would not be happy to see walk off. Locks keep honest people honest.The stock locks can be opened with a CH751 key, a common key used on many RVs, including LD. Re: Electronic Entry Door Lock Reply #3 – November 25, 2022, 01:43:16 pm I can certainly see replacing the original compartment latches with a more secure keyed version, but while it’s true that a determined thief will break in, not having any lock on the compartment doors to deter a casual “grab and run” seems very risky. Think I'll chance it! This is our last RV and I really like it. One thing we had on one of our A's, I do miss. It had a fob that opened and locked the entry door and compartments. Especially since the demise of the Mothership, I have no idea where you'd obtain replacement doors and the surrounding parts. Some owners carry quite a few items of value, including tools and replacements, that would be very inconvenient, difficult, or expensive to replace, particularly if/when an item was needed in a hurry; taking steps to prevent easy rip-offs is a smart move, IMO. I almost never lock the compartments except the battery box and the tool compartment. I'd rather they take what's inside verses tearing things to pieces. Just my thoughts.Jon

No extra key to carry. Change the combination to any 3 or four digit number(depending on which version you install) of your choice. If you want to leave them unlocked just leave the correct number dialed in all of the time, then it will just be like a thumb lock. Then you'll have to option to lock them some time down the road if you want. I have the three digit Combi-Cams installed on all of the lockable outside storage cabinets, along with backer plates, thumb pulls, and covers. JohnF

Re: Electronic Entry Door Lock Reply #20 – December 01, 2022, 07:29:23 pm JOR here are some photos. I believe I changed out 6 of these on my 2003 T/K. Sizes I used were 1- 5/8", 5-7/8", 2-1 3/8". Granted that comes to 8 not six so two of them were not used(not sure which ones). As for the backing plate I don't remember where I bought that from. I did get the information as where to buy the backing plate from posts on this Lazy Daze Owners group. The finger pull and cover were either from Amazon.com or combi-cam.com. JohnF2003 T/K 1 Likes
