A Different Use for the LD
While on a trip last month in Wisconsin we both came down with covid for the first time. I drove us back home in three days where we could get a prescription for Paxlovid in an attempt to shorten the duration of the symptoms. When arriving home instead of exposing our house to the virus we decided to stay in the motorhome until we recovered and tested negative for the virus. It would easier to clean the motorhome interior afterward than the house. We stay there for about a week until we recovered.
This was the first time we have camped on our RV pad since 2002. At that time we were camping in our Beaver Patriot for over a year while constructing the home. That was a great year living in our campground. At that time there were over 50 peacocks living on the property. They were beautiful but VERY noisy and dirty. They are no longer here. While typing this message, Elizabeth told me to check the sunrise sky. "Sailor Take Warning Red Sky in the Morning!" Yes, there is a cold front coming our way across the Gulf of Mexico. There goes our warm weather for a while.

Glad you two recovered from COVID.  We also had COVID while traveling in Ohio.  We were able to get an Internet Nurse Practitioner to prescribe Paxlovid and extended our stay a week while we recovered.  We enjoyed looking at your wonderful pictures.

Sorry to hear COVID finally caught up to you two, glad you’re on the mend.  There are worse places to be quarantined.

Just woke up to 28° outside and a brisk 43° inside, so I could go for some Florida cold weather!

Mike, glad to hear you and Elizabeth recovered well.  Nice that you had the LD to isolate in.  There must be something about Covid and LD’s.  Victoria and I were on a caregiving respite and spent a few nights at Morro Bay at the beginning of this month. She started getting symptoms the very first night and tested positive the next day so spent our “vacation” in the LD.  I promptly got symptoms a few days later upon returning home and have recovered now.  This was the second time for us.  Not exactly how we planned things but it was nice to get away and the fish and chips at the Bayside Cafe we’re good as usual!  👍

Still hoping to get out your way someday!

What a beautiful place! I need to spend some time in Wisconsin next year. I thought it might be Florida when I first saw the picture.

My wife and I haven't had Covid, but we decided early on our "mobile isolation unit" would be the ideal place to live until recovering. It certainly worked well during the worst of it, protecting us while traveling around the western US.

I had Covid in August and also stayed in my 23 1/2 TK. Best place to recover.

Karen and I quarantined in our 98~MB in the beginning of the covid pandemic in Seaside Oregon 2020 during the "stay in place" from March till late June.  We camped with another couple next to our space who have a class A with slides.  Their unit became all of our living room which was necessary when staying on the Oregon coast since few days were nice enough to stay outside.  Our LD worked great for us.  Fortunately we were plugged into power and could water up and dump so living off of solar was not necessary.  In 2021 when one of us got the Delta Variant, the other sheltered in our LD in our driveway and remained symptom and test free.  We had always thought that if the time came (the Bigone) we could shelter in our LD lifeboat.  We had no idea that we would use it for a quarantining purpose?

Our LD parked in our driveway - in SoCal - has always been our earthquake recovery apartment. COVID just changed the incident repurposing, though, thankfully not needed yet for that.
