What's this part that is leaking? Pic included...
Hi Everyone,

I was under the front end of our 2007 25 MB Lazy Daze to drain the oil change for an oil change, and I noticed this thing leaking.  Not much of a leak though as there was none on the ground...There was just a drop hanging.  This thing is right behind my Safe-T-Plus Steering Control.  So what is it?

Thanks,
Eric

It’s just a small amount of grease oozing out of the zerk fitting and boot.  It’s normal.  Btw, it’s important to grease those 4 zerks every oil change. Hope this helps.

"...grease oozing out of the zerk fitting and boot."

When you're under there again [which you should be to discover things that need maintenance] take a shop rag with you and wipe that grease away. Pay particular attention to the outer end of that joint, you will see the zerk nipple which is used to inject the grease needed in those joints, the second of which you will find in the same location behind the other tire.  ;D  Check your owners manual for the proper lube interval.

Thank you, Ed & Margee.  I went out and found the 4 zerks.  Now, on to learn how to add grease through them...

Thanks for the tips, especially the location of the other two zerks.  Now, I've located all 4 of them.

Many (most) E450's upper and lower ball joints have removable plastic plugs that, once removed, allowed zerk fitting to be installed.
Ball joints are normally the first thing that needs replacement in the front suspension, lubing them everytime the oil is changed will significantly increase their life span.
