Or people will go to NV or AZ to buy a motorhome.

I don’t think that would work.  It might be tough to get a California license or drive out of state vehicles in California.  Can’t deny it, all electric RV coming sooner or later!!!

Note: I would not buy one.  Gas is always better.

My great grandfather felt the same way about mules being replaced by gasoline-powered tractors.

Here's a DIY solar suitcase update: I got the two $85 solar panels, hinged them together, added a couple of handles (salvaged from the broken panels), and I'm back in business.

My new 200 watt solar suitcase is generating 160 watts at the moment--I haven't made any attempt to optimize the tilt angle or direction--and although not shown in these photos, I've anchored it with strong cord and a big rock so it won't blow away.

Nice, Andy!  I hope it’s lighter than the one I received (40 lbs.).  ;)

I haven't weighed this suitcase, but the specs say that the panels weigh 13 pounds apiece. The weight of the handles and hinges is negligible, so it's probably about 27 pounds total. I'm surprised that the Goal Zero 200 W suitcase you got weighs so much. I've looked at a few other 200 W suitcases, and most weigh a lot less than 40 pounds--for example, Renogy's 200 W suitcase weighs 36 pounds including a built-in solar charging controller, which yours and mine lack.
