Tiger Bengal built by Provan Industries
Muhammad Azam has referred to the Tiger a few times, so I have researched it as a "plan B."  Thank you, Muhammad!

Provan builds the Tiger on a 4x4 chassis. Having a 4x4 may be a good option for my steep driveway.

Provan recommends the Ford F-350 or F-450 truck chassis. The Ford F-series parts are easier to find compared to the E series. Not having the dog house would be helpful.

Provan builds the Tiger using a one-piece fiberglass top with aluminum sides.

One huge negative is that the Tiger lacks the large LD windows, but it is a "four seasons" RV in return. The bathroom is not as attractive as the LD.

Any thoughts?

Reminds me of a camper van, in space, tank capacity, etc, except on a 4x4 capable truck.

Suspect it handles better than a class C too.

As a TK owner, I’m already predisposed to the smaller size as well.  I like it as a plan B.

As I had mentioned previously, the Tiger was on my short list (yes, Lazy Daze won out in the end), and I studied it intensely for a good long while.  But this was many decades ago.  As it turned out, a Lazy Daze was available (used), and a Provan was not.  Hence the decision.  I would have jumped on either one.

I now have a Pleasure-Way Class B unit with far less window real estate than my former RB, but don't really feel badly about this status.  I loved the openness of the RB, but am finding that with only one person now in residence, that perhaps fewer windows isn't such a bad thing.  I think it is cooler inside - comparatively.

As for an attractive bathroom - this also is not important to me.  Utilitarian facilities are all that I need for this basic part of living aboard.  But I neither wear makeup nor fuss with my hair, so other ladies may find different needs in this regard.

I had a 4WD GMC Jimmy for nearly twenty years, but used that feature very seldom.  But I don't tend to go to places where it would be of value, so YMMV is always in play.

As in so any aspects of traveling, "it depends"!  ;->  You just need to make a list of aspects and how you feel about the inclusion, or lack, of each.  Where are the "deal breakers"?

True.

Sam, at a glance, there are several things I like and dislike.  I suggest doing a detailed "pros-cons" list and then applying Judy's common sense.  Any idea how much a chassis would run?

The MSRP for the Ford F-450 is 45K to 55K.
The Tiger build starts at 100K.

Lots of things to consider. The economy and current gas prices are not helping.

Provan has gone through a fair amount of changes over the years.
At one point not too long ago, they had three models of Tigers to choose from.
Now they are down to one.
For the light off road crowd, a Tiger is a popular choice. They have a cult following like LD.
A new one is pretty expensive, finding used ones is not easy.

Tiger has an Owner's Forum like this one, but not nearly as active, well designed, or as much advice from experts. My future co-piolet (my wife) will only allow a new build.

On a side note, my wife and I were able to view a Tiger Bengal built-in 2001. The construction appears to be LD quality.

The LD RB is our first choice, and the Tiger Bengal is now "plan B."
