Passenger swivel seat upgrade June 06, 2022, 11:47:34 am The passenger swivel seat base I ordered finally arrived, so I installed it last Friday. Was a very simple install, about a hour, not including watching a couple videos on the install and going to Home Depot for a T55 Torx Bit Socket.Still getting to know the exact positioning required to pivot the passenger seat, as clearance is tight, but it’s so worth it to get an extra seat in a TK. 6 Likes

Re: Passenger swivel seat upgrade Reply #4 – June 07, 2022, 04:37:25 am Hi Dave; Great pictures, and a good plan. I've been intending to do this over the last 22 years. So far alternate seats are the 'throne' (seat cover down), or facing forward in the passenger seat. RonB 1 Likes

AFAIK, the T/K is the only floor plan that can practically use a seat swivel. It makes a nice place to read in the morning sun.Larry 1 Likes
Re: Passenger swivel seat upgrade Reply #6 – June 07, 2022, 10:15:55 pm 26.5 IB owner's may also want to consider adding a swivel seat pedestal to expand available seating/living space. The location of the factory installed tv mount also makes this seat a perfect lounger for tv viewing. Matt 3 Likes

Re: Passenger swivel seat upgrade Reply #8 – June 08, 2022, 10:30:34 am Greetings Amy,The table was a repurpose project. I modified a worn out footstool from one of those ScanDesign type recliners that was purchased at a local secondhand store.. The round base makes it strong and stable enough to also be used as a step stool to access the cabover bunk area. Hope this helps.Matt 5 Likes
Re: Passenger swivel seat upgrade Reply #9 – June 08, 2022, 11:07:50 am I ask about the Mid-Bath because we have converted out dinette into a couch in our 98~MB and with a few people congregating in the kitchen area it would be nice to gain an additional seat from a swiveling Drivers seat but I wonder if there is space to allow the seat to swivel? Dave you did a Great job, if you had done the same to your drivers seat, would it swivel around 150 degrees? Karen~Liam 98 ~ MB NinA
Re: Passenger swivel seat upgrade Reply #10 – June 08, 2022, 12:26:59 pm In a TK you have a wall behind the driver’s seat that prevents that seat from swiveling, and in my case, the driver’s seat is powered too.If you had open space behind the driver’s seat, you could swivel it, but I don’t recall a MB configuration. The company does make a driver’s side swivel. A driver’s side swivel would have a limited recline because of the pesky steering wheel.
Re: Passenger swivel seat upgrade Reply #11 – June 08, 2022, 03:10:14 pm My experience with drivers swivel seats in a motor home come from our old 84 itaska 21ft. There is the same room behind the seat and the wall in the itaska and as with our 98~MB. To swivel the seat in the itaska you move the seat 4 inches forward swing it to the right 45 degrees slide the seat back, swivel more and slide back and forth till the seat swivels about 160 degrees and yes that steering wheel is there so maybe you go to 140 degrees to let the back rest back some. Dave where did you get your swivel? Thanks Karen~Liam 98 ~ MB NinA

Re: Passenger swivel seat upgrade Reply #14 – July 14, 2022, 04:56:47 pm I love this for my 2001 TK. Probably going to be one of the first major mods that I do. A lot of nights I have to sleep sitting up, this would be great for that.
Re: Passenger swivel seat upgrade Reply #15 – July 15, 2022, 12:47:20 am It would work great if you need a recliner.I don’t swivel when I have company, but when I’m traveling solo, it’s great having the chair pivoted.
