Please Welcome Your New Moderator
Effective this post, please welcome Ron Bostick (Ron B) as your new lead moderator. After 7 years as your moderator, it's time to move on to being a bystander. As you all know, Ron has contributed frequently to LDOG and is talented in the technical and mechanical fields of RVing and all things Lazy Daze. I will hang on behind the scenes for as long as it takes Ron to learn how to navigate this platform.

My signature block has mentioned that I would be owning a 2022 16' Scamp Deluxe this month, and on Apr. 11th I picked it up at the Scamp factory in Backus, MN. I promised several members I would post a few photos, so they are below.

I wish to thank all of you for showing such respect, courtesy and civility to me and to all the other members of LDOG over the last years. I have truly enjoyed interfacing with the fellowship of Lazy Daze. I want to also thank Steve and Michelle Cook for their administrative support, especially when we moved from Yahoo to this platform 6 years ago. And last, thanks to Judie Ashford and Larry Wade for backing me up as co-moderators.

A post like this requires a reply.   My GOODNESS!!    Let’s see … BOMBSHELL!!   😢 While I certainly understand why you are passing the reigns, I’m really going to miss your leadership in this Neighborhood.  Your style of Moderator has certainly set a high standard.  Thank you Chris for so many years of flawless leadership.

I’d also like to thank Ron for accepting this challenging responsibility.  I’ve repeatedly been mightily impressed with Ron’s wide range of RV knowledge and his willingness to spend considerable time and energy to help folks like Margee and I.

I’d like to add my appreciation for Judie and Larry’s many years of leadership, guidance, and support.  We certainly appreciate you very much.   Thank you 🙏.

Finally, I sure hope that Chris remains an active member of this Forum.  Like…Please!  😎

Thank you for all the help and knowledge Chris! As a newer and younger member I have learned so much since buying our LD in 2019.

I’ve been eyeing those Scamps! You will have to share how the build quality is. I haven’t done much research on them.

Also thanks to Ron for accepting the moderator duty! He’s very knowledgeable and willing to share his knowledge so I know he’ll do a great job!

I want to express my gratitude to both Chris and Ron for years of dedication to this forum. Thanks especially to Chris for his many years of contributing to this forum and his 7 years of guiding this forum.

I was fortunate to meet Chris in person in May of 2002; he and his bride were returning home from picking up their new and very red 31 foot Lazy Daze. We were towing a trailer to Las Vegas from where we were going to dash across the desert to visit the Lazy Daze factory. He has been a great friend and mentor for nearly 20 years. I look forward to hearing about his future adventures and his ongoing friendship.

Ron, thanks for agreeing to take the helm of our group. I have always admired you knowledge and helpful spirit. Good luck with your new responsibilities. And thanks also to the past moderators and co-moderators who made this forum possible.

Chris, many thanks for providing consistently even-handed and courteous management of LDO; you and your co-moderators have made this forum one of the most welcoming, civil, and informative on the web.

And, of course, thanks to Ron for taking over the job! His broad knowledge and helpful  attitude will be great assets to the forum.

All things must pass I suppose but we'll miss your leadership greatly Chris, though I hope you'll follow the lead of Andy, Art and others and continue to hang out here despite switching brands. You're a good role model, moving on to another form of RVing and keeping the adventure going instead of hanging up your keys. I think many of us would love to hear how your transition to trailering goes. I can't wait to hear about the trials and tribulations of backing into various Scampsites, trailer not going where you told it to go, bumping into this and that object not seen. And I will now have a another brand to look for on the road, wondering if that Scamp we just passed on some mountain road was you. And I do hope we can share a campsite again sometime in the future as we have done in the past. Happy trails!

Chris, congratulations in your 'graduation' to LDAA (LazyDaze Alumni Assn).
Welcome,  Ron, to the moderator ....uh position.  It's a better slot than moderating some other groups.
Don't let it interfere with cats' quality time.

Chris & Ron,

This is how the race is won-the baton is passed and carried forward. Gently, courageously onward. No faltering. Goal in sight…wind to your backs.

Congratulations to you both. Successfully done. You are both proud warriors in the battle for clarity and wisdom.

Thank you.

Thank you for your time making this the best possible website for LD knowledge.

Ron,
Welcome and thank you for becoming the new lead moderator and maintaining a valuable resource.

As a former moderator, I’m happy to say that Chris has done an outstanding job in that position. His tactful, unobtrusive style has kept this group friendly to old-timers and welcoming to newcomers. Larry and Judie have ably assisted him. (We all see examples of Larry’s great breadth of practical technical knowledge, but Judie’s behind-the-scenes work, while not as obvious, helps keep the group running smoothly.)

Ron has been a great resource, and I’m sure will make an excellent leader. We’re all lucky to have people of such high caliber who are willing to volunteer for years at a time to make this group what it is. And of course we’re equally fortunate to have so many smart, helpful members!

Meanwhile, happy trails, Chris, in your shiny new rig! I hop you’ll enjoy many more years of RVing.

The smooth transition from yahoo to this board, and through a few generations of moderators (at least 3?) is a testament to the people involved.

The community here, and all of the contributors, improves the ownership experience.

Many thanks to all of you!

I’m thinking that the NEW Moderator deserves a proper initiation!!!  Yes Sir … that’s exactly what RonB needs so he feels loved by this Neighborhood.

We could TP his LD!  Or put shaving cream on his LD tires.  Or perhaps hide his coffee pot.   Or send him 8000+ emails asking for guidance!   At the end of the day, RonB needs to know he deserves this esteemed position of LDOF Moderator.  😇

Correction:

1st moderator seems to be someone named Leif
Greg Harvey then became moderator and Steve B took over when Greg sold his LD and left the forum.
Andy Baird took over from Steve B.
I took over from Andy.
And Ron Bostick now leads the pack.

Any corrections or elucidations on this history are of course very welcome.
