Old Fuel
The fuel in my tank is close to 6 months old. I don’t think I put stabilizer in it when I last filled up in October but have been running the engine and generator monthly. Should I run out the old fuel and replace it?

Go top it off, add seafoam and stabilizer per instructions....go for a 30 min drive once a month and keep topped off with fresh fuel....imo

I would top off with fresh if there is space in the tank, or just drive it until 1/2 and top.

6 months isn't that old for modern fuel in a modern vehicle.

How Long Can Gas Sit in a Car Before it Goes Bad?.

Smile because the fuel in the tank was 1/2 price of fuel today.

It may be time to load Mom up and go for a long drive. How long will it be before you actually use your LD?
If soon, I would not bother with additives, just fill it up and go.
If it will be sitting months more, top the tank off and add the prescribed amount a STA-BIL or Sea Foam gas treatment, continuing the monthly generator runs.
Modern automotive fuel systems are sealed, so little escapes or evaporates away, reducing deterioration.

It's not good to park an LD for a long time, they need to be driven.

It may be awhile, Larry. Unfortunately, my Mom is not mobile and unable to get into the LD.  She would like nothing better than to go on a trip, though but it may be awhile until we get some respite care.

I’m going to change the oil in the next couple days so I’ll take it for a little drive to warm it up and run some gas out, then top it off and put Stabil in the tank.

Thanks to all who responded!

Based on my experience I think you'll be fine, Greg.  But I'd pour the Stabil in just before refilling and drive sufficient miles for the fuel to slosh and enter the injection before you return home.

And don't forget to run the genset afterwards!

Took the LD for a 90 mile spin to the desert to dust off the cobwebs and burn some of the old fuel. The gas prices are shocking here in California, $110 for 20 gallons, but I guess that’s the price we pay for our recreation. Added an appropriate amount of Stabil.

Does anyone have a good way of transferring fuel out of the tank to reuse in other vehicles, rather than driving the RV?
