And there were a number of motorhomes--mostly one-offs--built on truck chassis in the Twenties and Thirties. Lazy Daze was probably the first motorhome built on a minivan chassis (originally cut down from actual vans; later using cutaway chassis supplied by automakers). So if you like, Lazy Daze was first in a narrowly defined category. 6 Likes

I was in it when I visited the factory many years ago--that's when I took that photo--but it was too dark to get decent photos with the camera I had at the time. The interior decor was pretty hideous, as you'd expect from a late-1960s recreational vehicle. ;-) Maybe somebody else has photos of the interior...? 1 Likes
