RV Garage Update
In 2017, my wife and I started designing an RV garage and an addition of a "mother-in-law suite" for my mother. In December 2019, everything was approved by the county, and we were given "the green light" to start. However, Covid hit the US, and everything came to a stop, and prices to purchase anything went higher than anyone would have predicted. We discovered LD and this supporting website and were placed on the list for a new build.

It is now 2022, and the garage is finished, except for the driveway and retaining wall. Below is a photo of the plans and the garage (posted two years ago). Hopefully, the LD mothership will still be able to produce the RV.

Beautiful! Looks like you will have a great view from the back of the house (hopefully the front as well!).

I don't know if you were able to get someone to test your driveway with an LD as you requested previously because I have a question/concern regarding the retaining wall in front of the RV side of the garage. It looks like it will prevent you from being able to back straight in.  It's definitely doable but I wonder if it will become a pain point. Have you considered moving the wall more to the right (as you face the garage)?

Hi Debbie; Just before I saw your comment, while I was looking at the photo, I was thinking the same thing about the clearance with that retaining wall.  Telephoto lenses can be deceiving, so maybe it will be ok.   RonB

Sam,  what size LD are you planning on buying?  I can bring my 30IB over but it wont give you an accurate view unless that is what you are buying, because of the long rear overhang.

This is exactly why the wall/driveway was stopped. I appreciate you bringing this to my attention, as I was thinking the same thing. This kind of input makes this group great!

24 or 27 models. I appreciate the offer!

Your building a nice place there, but your going to live with the drive and wall for a long time. I think I'd lose some more of the hill and straighten things out while it's easy.

There is still more work on both the driveway and retaining wall. The engineer who designed the driveway incorporated all the information I provided him for a 27 foot MB/RB (with the help of this website and measurements given to me by the "mothership"). Hopefully, everything will work out.

PARUSSKY was kind enough to provide me with the backup plan of a local spring shop in Tucson, Arizona, that works on modifying RVs. This shop could add heavy-duty front springs, extra leaves to the rear, and two large metal rollers to stop the back from scrapping.

As everyone has feared, I hope LD will still produce the highest quality RVs in the future, so I can place the LD in the garage when not in use.
