"Milagro"Mexican Paint Job Progress... February 13, 2022, 09:33:44 pm I'm currently in Puerto Penasco and decided to "finally" have my 1998 Lazy Daze repainted. I decided on a combination of a shade of blue with a teal color. The white (which looks like a sea-foam green in some lights) was fine so I picked the color combination to better blend with that paint. I also added some silver stripes. Also, I had some very minor body work done (bubbles on side from now corrected ceiling leak). Apparently there are three levels of clear coats and I had the middle one with three coating layers. My apologies to the Lazy Daze "purists" for deviating from the regular color scheme. I actually spent one night in Painting Perfections (a.k.a. Chuy's shop) in a Barrio with a dirt street complete with a locked gate with barbed wire and guard dogs. However, my RV was inside the bay with the door locked but it was still a bit of an "adventure." There are a couple of areas that are going to be completed here at the RV park tomorrow, but today people came by to "ogle" at my Lazy Daze... I'll post the finished product after the "tweaks" are completed. 12 Likes

He told me if I need anything else painted to contact him and come to his shop directly. He's done this for 18 years and everyone says "he's the best" in Puerto Penasco. It's definitely worth a trip here (only 60 miles from the U.S. border in Lukeville, AZ). I usually stay at a dry camp for $10.00/night but I decided to treat myself to this park with full hook-ups and a hot tub ($680/month). 9 Likes

Re: "Milagro"Mexican Paint Job Progress... Reply #11 – February 16, 2022, 05:43:46 pm Kristin, I checked with Todd at the MS about a year ago and sent him a picture of the tape on my LD. They still carry the same (or very similar) tape. However, since I had the stripes repainted a different color a few years ago and would like to freshen up the tape, But Todd didnt have any suggestions as to how to do it. So that is why I asked if the tape had been removed. I understand that there is a large eraser type wheel for removing vinyl stickers that Amazon sells, but was hoping to find out if the Mexican painting company had a better method.

Thank youIt takes about week or so depending on the number of people who are waiting. Painting Perfection (a.k.a as "Chuy") has a strong following of satisfied customers and he "does it right." Mexico is "Mexico" and the RV Park (Playa Bonita) gets a 10% "kickback." However, Chuy told me in the future to contact him directly and he would do it all in his shop to avoid the extra cost. In all honesty, I found some "blips" but Chuy made good and corrected any paint errors. The final cost was $350 USD more as he repainted my door and clear coated my mermaid mural on the rear tire. The final bill was $2,650 USD. 2 Likes
Re: "Milagro"Mexican Paint Job Progress... Reply #15 – February 16, 2022, 08:41:42 pm Cheryl, I am a little confused. Did you have the vinyl tape between the painted stripes removed? If so, did Chuy do it? My tape stripes look terrible and I would just as soon remove them. 1 Likes

I think the common wisdom is 2-3 months, but please research this time frame yourself since I’m not real sure myself. 1 Likes
