Replacing microwave for a convection microwave
We have a 2001 26 ft mid bath.  We'd like to replace the microwave with a convection microwave but are having a hard time finding one that will fit in the opening.  Has anyone had any success doing this?

When our microwave went out several years ago, I searched for a convection unit that would fit.  The problem is size of opening in cabinet.  I bought a 1.0 cf unit microwave only unit from Recpro with a trim kit from Amazon.

If you get the convection oven, would you get rid of your gas oven? Just curious.
What size do you need? Smaller than 22”W x 13.4”H x 17”D?  20 1/2" W x 14 1/4" H x 18" D?

I seem to rember reading that a convection/microwave oven needs to vent to the outside. There is no vent where the current microwave is located (not on my MB anyway). Usually, one would be placed above the burners and use the vent where the range hood is located.

Without venting a lot of heat fills the RV.

Even my tabletop convection/air fryers require air space around the unit.

If my understanding is wrong, please correct me because I too would love a convection/microwave in my LD.🙂

That’s a really good question, Deb. I never thought about it. The research I just looked at says convection ovens do not require venting. Anyone else find anything different?

Our SOB (Someone Else's Brand) coach has a Sharp Carousel model R-1870F convection microwave. It does not have an external vent. Using the convection feature does add heat to the inside of the coach. We have learned to cook well enough in it- and don't boondock- that we could swap the stove/oven for just a propane cooktop and be satisfied.
