Philips CPAP/BiPAP recall September 14, 2021, 10:16:12 pm I saw Larry's post asking Chris how his son was doing with his Inspire implant device (well I hope) and it got me thinking about how the Philips CPAP/BiPAP recall is affecting me and likely many others. For those who are unfamiliar with the recall... In June Philips recalled 3-4 million CPAP and BiPAP respirators due to deteriorating foam inside the machine that is used to deaden the sound the machine makes. The deteriorating foam can cause severe repository problems, especially for someone in an already compromised state of health. The problem appears to be worst when an ozone cleaning device has been used. Philips has committed to repair or replace the machines but it's a long list and who knows when they will get around to actually doing it. Also, the recall and forthcoming lawsuits has created a selling boon for Philips competitors. So much so that there is a huge backlog on all non-recalled CPAP/BiPAP machines.Philips recommends to stop using the CPAP/BiPAP machines and to talk to your doctor. On my doctor's advice, I've stopped using my CPAP machine and I'm doing OK with not using it. My question is... how are others affected by the recall. If you have one of the recalled machines, are you still using it? Has Philips contacted you about repair or replacement. Have you been able to find a replacement? I have not heard anything since I registered for the recall and my CPAP supplier hasn't been able to stock any new machines.- John
Re: Philips CPAP/BiPAP recall Reply #1 – September 15, 2021, 01:27:38 am I have only been using the CPAP machine for 6 months. I received a letter from the hospital where my sleep study was performed stating the machine had been recalled. After spending an hour on the phone, I was told my machine was not included on the recall. I have an appointment with the hospital doctor who prescribed the CPAP machine in January. I would be happy to ask the doctor your questions, and post his answers. 1 Likes

Won’t do much good now, but here’s a link to a list of recalled machines. If yours is on the list then you can start the registration from the same page.Home | Philips Recall- John
