Our jeep has a similar oil filter arrangement, it's getting a Fumoto next oil change.Larry

With free charging stations at my job and zero maintenance, I am happy I only need to deal with oil changes on my LD. Agreed, the oil filter is a messy swap out. Victoria, which Fumoto model did you happen to get? The adjustable one which I believe is F106SX? It looks as though it doesn't create an issue with ground clearance since it comes off the side of the oil drain hole.
Re: Oil change frequency Reply #28 – September 08, 2021, 04:45:56 pm Joe, the valve does hang down perhaps 2” at approximately a 45 degree angle below the oil pan but it’s not the low hanging fruit (see photo). The transmission oil pan/support is lower so it shouldn’t be a problem, unless perhaps if you're 4-wheeling in the LD. This was the first time changing it since installing the Fumoto valve and it certainly makes the job a little easier! I need to resupply my filter stock and we recently had a discussion about the best brands of filters to use. Can someone direct me to it?Need to do the generator next. Wonder if a Fumoto can be installed on it?

Re: Oil change frequency Reply #34 – April 03, 2022, 10:46:16 pm I always used the OEM Motorcraft FL280S, the manual-recommended oil filter for my 2003. (Motorcraft oil filters are made by Purolator, AFAIK.) Bosch also makes a high quality filter. 2 Likes
