Screen Door Latch & Handle Replacement
Anyone ever have to replace the screen door latch and handle assembly?

Is this a "Mother Ship Order?"

Yup.   As an aside there is a left and a right hand replacement parts.   Double check to make sure you get the proper part.

On the subject of screen door latches, has anyone found a commercially available inside release that avoids the need to slide open the plastic panel?  I’ve seen the homemade latch pulls but haven’t been able to locate a manufactured replacement latch or latch assist.

It looks like you have it all under control, but you can find this part at almost any RV supply.  Mine recently broke at Navajo Lake State Park, and my brother found one for me in Aztec, NM and replaced it.

Amazon.com : rv screen door slide

This type has a double sided disc with a spring mechanism.  Their is a post on each side . Push on post from inside and by way of spring setup it moves the outside post down to engage handle. Once you let up on post the spring returns the outside post upward. The slider can be moved if needed to lock the door. The company patent is by Lippert Co.

Has anyone put this type of pull-down screen door latch like in Tony's post on a 90s LD? Does it fit? I've bought several styles of latches over the years only to return them because I couldn't get them to fit.
