One disadvantage to Lazy Daze big windows.
I have made a discovery regarding LD nice big windows.
I don't know if this happens to others but for me it's all too often.
I'll be sitting in my usual spot, reading or surfing the net, when all of a sudden I'll hear a bang on a window.
Look over and see a smudge of feathers on the window. Think to myself, whoa, another bird strike.
Looking outside, I see the dead bird on the ground, not too far from where it hit the window,

Any others experience this?

In the 12 years of ownership and camping time I have never experienced a 'bird hit'. I can see a bird hit a window that is clear and can be seen through but LD windows are dark...

Under the right light conditions, dark windows can appear to be mirror-like like and bird think they “see” the sky.
High-rise buildings in Galveston kill hundred or thousands of migrating birds yearly.

Our second story bedroom window has a dark, refective tint that experiences bird strikes occur ocasionally. Many times a faint image of the bird remains, the result of dust disloging from the bird’s feathers.
Whenever we have been home and have seen or heard a strike, the bird has never been found, the impact evidently not killing it. Guess it has to do with how fast they are flying and/or the angle of the impact.
My parents had a cat that learned the sound of a bird strike, it was alway a race to get to the bird before the cat did.

There are two kinds of bird strikes: the accidental ones you folks have been talking about, and what I call "reflection attacks." I've seen the latter happen several times when parked near low trees or bushes. A bird would see its reflection in my Lazy Daze's window, think it was a rival bird, and attack it. This can go on for hours at a time, and for day after day.

I have large windows in our sticks and bricks. We have regular bird strikes. This product can reduce them and is very unobtrusive. If you don't want to go this high tech a yellow highlighter does help. Cheap and temporary but will keep the birds and your windows safer.

Since we got our LD in ‘15 we have made biannual visits to Watchman CG in Zion. Beautiful place. Lots of birds.

When camped in the open near the river, we’ve never had birds slam into our living area windows, however, when camped within the tree line or bushes we get struck at least twice each trip.

My thinking is that as birds fly low inside the lower limbs of the trees they perceive the black windows as a break in the brush and as a means of egress through the undercover. Happens this way a lot. Almost guaranteed.

It’s shocking each time. Leaves a smudge and breaks my heart. I wonder if there is something that can prevent this. Always a sad experience. 🙈

I have an occasional bird strike on my front picture window at home. Never had one in the LD.

I did note however, when I was stationed in Germany and visiting relatives, that they would have plastic film stickers of birds, flowers, etc. on the inside of their windows and they reported that it seems to work.  ;)
