Fluorescent LED Lights July 14, 2021, 12:37:29 pm We’ve finally (FINALLY) decided to replacement the fluorescent light bulbs with LEDs. All the other interior lights are LED to include the halogen lights. If I remember correctly, which is a risky proposition, some of the Faithful found that a single LED was sufficient to match the existing brightness from fluorescent lights. Am I remembering correctly? I’d like to order the LEDs today and before I forget. 🤪Thank you. 2 Likes

Re: Fluorescent LED Lights Reply #3 – July 14, 2021, 02:44:09 pm Ed & Margee, what color range did you decide on? And are you planning one or two tubes per fixture? I always felt the two tube florescent was too bright above the dinette and in the lounge.Steve K.

We’re going to use one (1) tube and if not adequate, use two (2). This seems to be the recommended method based on LDO’s experience. Hope this helps. 2 Likes
Re: Fluorescent LED Lights Reply #5 – July 14, 2021, 08:09:08 pm We changed the above the dinette for one 4500K LED tube and changed the Kitchen one for one LED 5200K? We found this works well for us with one LED tube being plenty of light. We did not change the lounge over window lights since we hardly use them, nor do we use the one over the overcab bed also. We did remove the central one in lounge for a dimmable LED drum light. Karen~Liam 98 ~ MB NinA 2 Likes

Re: Fluorescent LED Lights Reply #7 – July 16, 2021, 06:27:05 pm I swapped out the lights with the natural white and really like them. It’s amazing the difference in battery power saved with the leds. I used two tubes in all except over the cab bed. I also ran led 4-wire twinkle lights around my lounge and galley that are powered by usb with portable power bank…love it!
Re: Fluorescent LED Lights Reply #8 – July 16, 2021, 11:23:51 pm We also changed out the incandescent light in the kitchen in our 98~MB to a retro looking standard household light. We wired it in 12v with dimmer and used E26 Medium Base LED Lamps which are working well after 20K miles driven over rough roads. We like the dimmability and light given off. Re: Fluorescent LED Lights Reply #9 – July 25, 2021, 04:14:05 pm The lights arrived from M4 Products the other day and we installed three (3) today. We’ll probably order more next month. It looks to us that one (1) 4500k is about equal to the brightness of two (2) of the 4100k florescent lights. We found the kitchen benefited from two (2) 4500k lights. Right now, we have one (1) over the dinette and we'll wait until it's dark to see how that works. I wish the original fixtures had a longer hot wire because it was a tight rewiring connection. Finally, we wish we had changed to LED tube lights a long time ago. 2 Likes
Re: Fluorescent LED Lights Reply #10 – August 03, 2021, 11:32:12 am After a few nights on the road, Margee has decided that two (2) 4500K LED tubes over the kitchen sink are perfect for her. And one (1) 4500K LED tube over the dinette works for us too. Since it’s a new credit card cycle, we can now order more of these lights from M4 Products for the lounge. The End. 3 Likes
