Fires near Hwy. 395
We are currently in Standish, CA (just east of Susanville) and just heard about a large wildfire complex just south of us. We were intending to head to Bishop tomorrow but are hearing conflicting info regarding the status of 395. Any closures that you’ve heard about?

Hi Greg,

Use the link for highway closure updates

   Road Conditions

No reports of Highway 395, but doesn’t mean there isn’t smoke.

Thanks for that post, #3, good info there.

My two girls, currently in Utah, are concerned about a safe route home due to the fact that both are troubled by asthma.  ???

Thanks for your help!  We left Standish early this morning after checking the Caltrans website. It was very smoky right before entering Nevada but started clearing up after Reno. We got a little concerned as we were the only ones heading south this morning; everyone was going north so we didn’t have any traffic the whole way!

Greetings from House Creek Campground on McPhee Reservoir (near Dolores, CO).

Smoke moved into the area yesterday, and it has been very smoky today.  Lazy Bones 2 reports smoke in Moab, UT, which is not that far from here.  We have been having trouble finding information about it online, and are wondering where it's coming from.

Mornings have been great, kayaking on the lake, but the long afternoons have been very hot.

Tomorrow we are heading up the San Juan Skyway to a campground above 9000' (close to Telluride).  Looking forward to the cooler temperatures.

Below, just a quick snapshot of the view of McPhee Reservoir from the back of our MB.

We are holed up inside, with the air conditioner on high.  It sure is nice to have shore power in weather like this!

I was told today while in Arches NP the the smoke is coming from fires in Arizona and blowing in to Moab. The smoke it pretty thick tonight at our campground.
