Lazy Daze 2020 Builds (2019 Chasis)
Due to some medical setbacks and relocating to Michigan from Virginia late last November, we weren’t able to pick up our 27 MB before the winter set in here in Michigan, even though we’ve owned it since late last year.  Since our son is graduating from medical school in Loma Linda (near Montclair) late this month, we elected to wait to take delivery while there for his graduation. Todd has been very helpful to us during our ordeal.

I’ve read that Lazy Daze did not make a 2020 model, as posted on various online forums. My title states I have a 2020 Lazy Daze MB. I know my chassis is a 2019 (the last one the Mothership built on that chassis), but the build was not completed until late last year.  I do know Lazy Daze didn’t publish a “2020 Lazy Daze Factory Direct Motorhome Price List,” so, I sent Todd an email asking him the same thing, and he responded, “Yes we have been titling 2020 builds as 2020.”

That was a little confusing to us as, thinking about the future, I’d hate to put it up for sale several years down the road and list it as a 2020 and have someone challenge us stating Lazy Daze did not make a 2020. I guess we can caveat it by stating it’s a 2020 build on a 2019 chassis. Not a big deal to us, but glad Todd chimed in and have also read it is common to have the motor home titled as the year the house was completed unless a particular state requires both the chassis year and house date listed on the title.

Anyways, looking forward to finally taking delivery. We will have an ICC driver take us to Ehrenberg.  When we get back to Michigan, we will take it to get Big Foot levelers since their factory in White Pigeon is only an hour away.

Options:
Disconnect switch, Bilstein shocks, second solar panel, outside shower, “hardwood dash,” electric step, back-up camera, heated/power cab mirrors w/LED turn signal indicators, plus 2 additional 120 outlets in rear, and a removable/storable rear table (had to talk Todd into it) similar to the TK.

I ordered my 27RB in 2019 and took delivery of it in June of 2020.  LD made me sign a document stating I understood it was a 2019 model and the Ford paperwork stated the same.  I titled it with the state of Washington as a 2019.  My understanding is Ford didn’t build a 2020 cab. Note that the outside ID label on the coach says 2020. Kind of confusing to a future buyer but there is a paper trail to validate everything.

Hmmm.  I have a 2020 “titled” 27 MB, on a 2019 chassis. I do know Lazy Daze didn’t publish a “2020 Lazy Daze Factory Direct Motorhome Price List,”  so, I sent Todd an email asking him the same thing, and he responded, “Yes we have been titling 2020 builds as 2020.” I was also told it’s common practice in the motorhome industry for RV manufacturers to title their RVs according to when the coach was completed. So, my lender was provided two certificates of origin; 2019 for the for chassis and 2020 for the Lazy Daze coach, and my DMV titled mine as a 2020.
I will maintain my copies of the certificates of origin just in case anything comes up down the road if I ever decide to sell.

Hmmm. I don’t think California law has changed. Our 2006 chassis with its 2007 build (delivered in March ‘07) had to be titled as a 2006. — Jon
(Former) ‘06 TK “Albatross.” And (former) Vespa 250.   Alas, no more; both are gone.😕 Great memories remain! 😄

It appears Michigan chooses the title (see attached) based on when the year the motorhome is completed. Perhaps the answer is that each state is different regarding how they choose to title a motorhome; chassis year vs.  motorhome complete year.

A concern of mine, as well as others in the same predicament as me, is there a price list floating around stating that there are no 2020 LDs, when clearly the attached Lazy Daze COE I posted earlier in this thread indicates there are 2020s.

This is a common practice with LD and other RVs.

Your LD is a 2020 and that’s what you will call it, if selling.
