Gas lines? May 11, 2021, 09:29:50 pm With the recent pipeline disruption, we are suddenly seeing gas lines at gas stations. We noticed lines more pronounced in towns- Richmond Virginia and Hampton/Newport News, and less lines at highway exit gas stations (where there is more room for a rig to maneuver anyway). What are y'all seeing in your necks of the woods?

Re: Gas lines? Reply #3 – May 11, 2021, 11:49:41 pm It's nothing huge. I get a few cents off of gas and propane, $5 off the dump fee, and some coupons for coffee and snacks. The biggest thing for me is that many Flying J's have dedicated RV lanes with plenty of space for entry and exit without worrying about cars. They typically have fresh water and air at the RV fuel pumps. I think those pumps are also set for higher price limits, so they don't shut off at $100 like some car pumps do. I just have the free rewards card. I don't have the credit card with a Good Sam connection. RV Services | Pilot Flying JRich 2 Likes

I heard from someone that spent an hour in line getting gas today.Canceling weekend travel plans as the trip would take more then what we currently have in the rig. 1 Likes

Speaking of trying to save a few dollars by searching out the cheapest gas wherever you are traveling, I used to do that. Color me spendy or indifferent or lazy, but nowadays I buy gas when I need it at the station that happens to be in sight when the tank is down to 1/3rd or so. Usually there's a clump of them to choose from. Not worrying about (cheapest) gas prices makes my trips less stressful.Chris 5 Likes

Reply #7 – May 12, 2021, 01:16:46 pm Costco in Folsom CA is business as usual - sporadically crowded, cost up nickel or a dime.Like Chris Horst, refill when there's a station convenient entry/exit, but I tend to start looking at 1/2 tank or the end of the day's drive.I always try to start the day with a full tank 3 Likes

Too bad they are not Top Tier.
Re: Gas lines? Reply #10 – May 13, 2021, 08:45:18 am We could only find gas at Loves driving I-10 in the Florida panhandle yesterday. Flying J was out along with many other stations. Hope it will get better further west. Pulling in the Cherokee at interstate speed we’re getting 9mpg. We’re happy. 👍 1 Likes
