Odd fitting
Driver's side rear bumper corner area.
Mid-Bath.

That is where the outside remote temperature sensor lives. You should be able to find it inside when the cap is removed.  Not sure why they designed it like that.

It lets in air to get the temperature, but keeps it mostly water tight.

Unscrew the large PVC nut and there is a sending unit up inside the pipe. It resembles a tv remote. No buttons but a panel to slide open to insert new AA batteries.

One more annual maintenance project. 🤪

The previous owner of my LD had purchased a new temperature station for the motorhome but the new outdoor sensor was slightly larger than original. I temporarily relocated it into the unused sewer hose storage compartment.  One of these days I’ll crawl underneath and drill the PVC fitting out a little larger to accommodate the sensor. Since the photo was taken, I’ve installed gasket material around the little door to help resist water intrusion.
