Spring Cleaning - The Bath Drain
I live with a gal who has blonde hair. Based on the quantity of hair I find in the bath drain she should be bald. We use a strainer, but some hair still gets into the drain. Today I did the semi-annual cleanout. It's such fun picking clots of hair out with a dental pick. It needs to be done, as a hairball in the small drain line would be problematic to cleanout.

I've been using this for a while and it really works.
strainer
I do not use the little suction cups.
I do have long hair that is falling out with age.  ::)

That begs the question, assuming there is a p-trap for the shower, how do you access it?

I have long hair and always hate if goes down the drain...
I saw these on this forum, and now have both, one in the motor home and one in my house!
They work perfectly.  Kristin

"...and always hate it [if the hair] goes down the drain..."

Hmmm, looks like an updated version of the one I've been using in my LD shower for years now. Mine did not come with the 'adaptors'.  :(

The shower is the hardest one to reach!

My wife's long hair weaves itself into ropes as it descends down into our house and LD drains.
Both need cleaning once a year, at a minimum, it's not one of my favorite activities.
Anything that traps the hair is worth a try.

I have had the rubber tub shroom in my house for years and it works fantastic! Pretty gross to clean and often has to be deep cleaned soaked in vinegar and scrubbed with a toothbrush - YUK! Was always a little worried that visiting pups (fosters or friends) would think it was a toy and possibly ingest it. Would make a perfect foreign body to get lodged in the GI tract and need surgery - $$ and ouch!

Excited to get my hands on this stainless steel version and going to check it in the LD tub drain. If it fits - I will get on for the LD and one for home. And it would be much less appealing to the pups.

Thanks Kristin for posting!!

On our previous rig, a Hi-Lo trailer, the shower had a p-trap which was enclosed and could be accessed from under the trailer. Does LD not do a shower trap?

This is an old message from Ron regarding location of his P trap. Clogged shower drain  Look under your MB for one.

The flat catcher that I posted a link to is easy and not messy to clean (if you do it each time you shower)

Thanks, Chris.  When I get it back from storage, I’ll take a peek underneath and try to locate it.
