Re: An official Lazy Daze Owner Reply #5 – March 03, 2021, 11:36:04 pm Welcome to the FOLD (Fellowship of Lazy Daze). Are this pictures of the inspection facility or the LD's home-at-home?You can add a location to your profile. It can be exact or someplace in the vicinity like a local landmark.
Re: An official Lazy Daze Owner Reply #6 – March 04, 2021, 12:56:37 am Hi Winnie; Welcome! The 1065 on your back window probably belonged to one of the previous owners. Perhaps in the South East group. That it was on the window shows that the owner was 'persnikety' about harming the paint and it shows! You have the stainless trim rings on the tail lights, so they are probably LED. One of the best mods. Looks to be in very good condition paintwise. It is, like mine, the E350 chassis, but you do have the newer design V10. Congratulations again. RonB

Re: An official Lazy Daze Owner Reply #8 – March 04, 2021, 06:53:39 am The pictures are in the storage facility of the seller during the inspection. His dad purchased it and was inherited by his son. Originally was in California. The couple retired and moved to Punta Girda Florida. Ed, the previous owner, absolutely wanted to keep it but his wife wanted something bigger to travel back and forth to Cal to visit their new grand child.I pick it up on Friday. And head back k home to Massachusetts. The name will be Winnie II, after my beloved dog who would travel with me everywhere. 8 Likes
Re: An official Lazy Daze Owner Reply #9 – March 04, 2021, 09:01:42 am Noticed the hitch ball in the LD receiver. Do you know what the previous owner was towing?
Re: An official Lazy Daze Owner Reply #10 – March 04, 2021, 10:07:22 am Actually, the hitch ball does not appear to be mounted on a receiver attachment - also see some odd appearance underneath the bumper. Winnie, did the inspection include examining under the rear bumper? Normally you would expect to find a hitch receiver instead of a flat ball-mount?Steve

Re: An official Lazy Daze Owner Reply #13 – March 04, 2021, 11:40:41 am The inspection was 4 hours long. He started on the roof and worked his way down under the rig, under the hood, inside to verify appliances, and so much more. The report is extensive Nd a debrief was done immediately after the inspection.lots of pictures taken. I think he said a small trailer eas hitched up

Re: An official Lazy Daze Owner Reply #15 – March 04, 2021, 11:53:36 am Hi LindaP; Steve, that flat ball mount, just a piece of steel with holes drilled, was what LD supplied me with when I picked up my new rig. It follows the 'less is more' thinking. I bought a class 2 receiver (is it) from LD at a later visit. I still have a real 2" ball mount, with ball, that I loan out to friends. I don't use it since I bought a tow bar. Only good for very light, small trailers, SeeDoo, utility trailers, etc. RonB
Re: An official Lazy Daze Owner Reply #16 – March 04, 2021, 12:34:09 pm Since you're on your way back to Massachusetts (bless spelchuck), are you aware of the area's Lazy Daze GroupNortheast Lazy Daze Caravan Club ?You might be interested in contacting them.Is Winnie still traveling with you?And welcome to retirement Joel

A 4 digit number is likely a Southern California Caravan Club number. 1065 was assigned to Ed and Isabel Cook, whom we remember from the club. This is the likely origin of your rig. Is the original nameplate by the door?Art 2 Likes
Re: An official Lazy Daze Owner Reply #18 – March 04, 2021, 02:58:59 pm Yes, the original plate is on the door. I bought it from his son Ed Cook who loves it dearly but had to sell after buying a Newmar. He told me about the time the club transported the LD caravan, I think he said on a train.I am fortunate to get such a well taken care of rig. 2 Likes
Re: An official Lazy Daze Owner Reply #19 – March 04, 2021, 10:00:39 pm Hi Linda P.; I remember when some members of the Caravan club took a train ride in Mexico to see Copper Canyon. That was a popular trip for a while. Mexico Ends Copper Canyon Motorhome Tours - RVBusiness - Breaking RV... I always wanted to go down the Mississippi river on a barge. You could take off from one of the stops, travel around, and get back on another barge, to continue the trip down river. Full hookups on the barge. Some complications on tax laws, gambling laws, or maybe the price was too high, put a stop to that. RVs cruise waterways on barges RonB 1 Likes
Re: An official Lazy Daze Owner Reply #20 – March 05, 2021, 10:17:44 pm My dad and uncle did the Copper Canyon trip a couple of times in my uncle's 1970's vintage Monaco Class C (rear bath). This is the rig I started with and found my 1990 MP Blue while going up to the Camping World in Valencia California to dump. This thread brought back lots of memories!!!I think, somewhere I have a cookbook handed out by the trip organizers. My uncle said driving onto the flat bed cars was a bit nerve wracking and you had to be REALLY careful if you got out of your rig!!!
Re: An official Lazy Daze Owner Reply #21 – March 11, 2021, 04:44:15 am Well I finally hit the road in my LD. A couple of issues came up but the sellers happily made the appropriate repairs. I must say, driving her is even better than I imagined. I am currently in SC in a KOA for the night overlooking a beautiful lake. Wish I had time to stay her longer but I will be hitting the road in the morning. Eager to get home for my 1st Vivid shot. Found a lovely climate controlled area for my new baby for the next month. Weather in MA is such i want to keep here in great condition.A little pricey but worth it until I find a more permanent inside space to store at a reasonable price.Already booked Mt first meet-up with NE RVW group for April and hope to join some events we NE LD group as well.Happy and safe travels. 11 Likes
Re: An official Lazy Daze Owner Reply #22 – March 20, 2021, 10:26:02 am Congrats on you LD! Fond memories when we got "Maeve" our 2001 30TB. She was older and had been neglected, but the excitement was still the same. Good luck and enjoy your travels.
Re: An official Lazy Daze Owner Reply #23 – March 20, 2021, 11:04:44 am Thank you,She is currently in a nice climate controlled storage facility. I am currently making a list of things that I think need to be done prior to taking her out for the season, using the LD owner's manual as a guide. Being a member of RVing Women and LD Owner's group has also been a tremendous help in my learning process.Best of luck and many happy days with your new member of the family! 3 Likes
