Has anyone used the Seal-Tite™ Window Foamcore Kit to reseal windows?
Has anyone used the Seal-Tite™ Window Foamcore Kit by Dicor to reseal windows? The instruction video looks pretty straight forward and the product sounds good, but I’d like to hear from someone that has actually used it on how well it worked for them.
Also, I have some breakage in the “insert gasket” frame on the outside of my windows.  I have asked an RV tech about replacing this and he said the company that makes this hehr gasket has been bought by LCI and may not be made anymore and no other gasket will fit. However, I can reseal my windows without having to replace this gasket.

Note that this is not actually the 'seal' for the glass. It applies pressure against the outside of the glass to push the glass into the sealant on the other side - between the glass and the frame. There usually is a gap at the bottom, so moisture can drain out. You can replace it, but likely not necessary. You can pullout a small amount from the bottom to get a picture of the cross-section and dimensions, then push it back in.

Thanks, but this doesn’t match the insert gasket on my 1991.

Well, I can't say for sure; maybe the stripping for a 1991is not the same as for a 2003. However, I was also skeptical before I ordered the stuff because the cross-cut illustration did not seem to match my mental picture of how the stripping should fit into the channel. I ordered 12" as a test; it was the right stuff.

Hi Joan, your 2003 windows are dual pane with a space and inert gas between the panes.  The 1991 rig has dual panes like mine  ('99) but no insulating space. essentially just thicker glass than the average, non LD '91, rig would have had. So the framework around the window, and the frames in the side of the motorhome that hold the windows, are a bit different.  Then again, they don't 'fog up' either.   Tint is about the same, noisier a little.  RonB

 RV Window - Pelland Enterprises seems to offer many different vinyl strip seal products for RV windows; a call might help locate the appropriate stripping for the single-pane window frames.
