Lithium vs AGM vs Flooded
I switched over to Lithium batteries soon after purchasing my LD and before hitting the road full-time, so I have very little experience with AGM or Flooded batteries.

Some of you may be interested in this video comparing the 3 types in great detail and which has the biggest bang for your buck. Most of the information flew high over my head but I know there are quite a few members here who will understand and appreciate the research. Enjoy!

After view this video, I found myself completely agree with the findings based on our own experience with our 2004 LD MB. The original LD came with 1 solar panel and 2 6v flooded Trojan batteries. We purchased replacement Trojan batteries in 2012 and babied them, hoping to maintain a long and heathy battery life. But by 2014 their capacity shrink quickly, especially in hot or mildly cold weather. We decided to upgrade to lithium batteries with addition solar panels. I installed six 100w solar panels and four 400ah LiFePO4 battery cells. We completely re-wired the LD's 12v and ac system. A 2kw inverter allows us to run microwave and small electric stove, or fridge on sunny days. The LiFePO4 battery has been with us for more than 6 years now, showing very little capacity shrinkage. I completely agree with the video that good lithium batteries are cost effective against flooded batteries, not to worry about adding water, and poor performance in hot or cold weather! Keeping cells balanced is critical to long lithium battery life.

I have no experience with AGM batteries.

Did you really mean you installed 1600Ah of LiFePO4 batteries?

No, each LiFePO4 cell is only 3.7v so four of them in series configuration become a 13.8v 400ah battery assembly. There was no 12v 400 ah battery on the market in 2014.
