Solar Fuse January 02, 2021, 09:35:00 pm Is the fuse for the solar a different type than the other fuses in the 12 volt side of the converter panel? The fuse holder is different and appears to be smaller (black holder in photo.)
Re: Solar Fuse Reply #1 – January 02, 2021, 09:46:15 pm It's probably a physically smaller fuse - looks like it from the picture.Mini vs Regular:How to identify blade-type fusesThe wise man (wise guy?) would get spares in each size. Rich

Thanks, Rich. Exactly why I was inquiring!
Re: Solar Fuse Reply #3 – January 03, 2021, 06:44:38 am This reply is meant to test the theory of "If you give a man a fish you feed him for a day. If you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime ".Greg, it's new year; be *daring*! Figure some stuff out. Open up the fuse holder and pull the fuse! I bet you thought of that, didn't you? 🙂You would learn 2 things that would be useful to you. #1, how to pull that fuse, and #2, what kind of fuse it is. #1 will prepare you for when you need to work on one of the 12volt systems which remain powered by the solar system even when the batteries are disconnected. Re: Solar Fuse Reply #4 – January 03, 2021, 09:26:06 am Steve, I’ll pull it today and take a look. You’re correct, I am a bit sheepish when it comes to electrical and solar stuff!🐑🐑🐑
Re: Solar Fuse Reply #5 – January 03, 2021, 09:44:57 am Greg, you may be sheepish but you were brave enough to pull out the electrical center to winterize! And I learned the *exciting* way about 12 volt systems still getting power from the solar when the batteries are turned off! Experience really is the best teacher!Steve K 1 Likes
Re: Solar Fuse Reply #6 – January 03, 2021, 04:57:10 pm So I pulled the fuse and took this photo to compare the sizes of the normal blade fuses in the converter panel versus the solar fuse. Confirming that the solar fuse (on the right in photo) is the type shown in the link below? Want to place an order for spares and make sure I get it right the first time!https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/BK_7822166?cid=paidsearch_shopping_dcoe_google&campaign=GSC-Ignition-Electrical-Lighting&campaign_id=10947851940&adgroup_id=107773573419&adtype=pla&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrf_HleCA7gIVvBmtBh0gYg3XEAQYASABEgJnsPD_BwE&__cf_chl_jschl_tk__=727e014ea8975ff3cb22775e263658ebb9e60fb4-1609710850-0-AaaKE3jLXbO4ktQsnc_N_vxuzwaz0bowlBZBuJPaQF_-2buuEUFp43FKHK0kRW-qDJuu-2XvC80xE-feiN6Q7MjXtt_Dw_bPyfKQEDEcc6MmsrI2V_9IOIRS9GmRDB4tl6zn1rEAbiNaTctZ_56eWKdiDnKn6WtSRE8nimCof_z6bfrTJiI5mBqZVX7EnDWryhOTBqEpyQywxdBZe6UlzLY116U7A3X419MKjM9H3O-gdfs3zs4iQUfkpzHUiupQaP7f-vR3jdxbldCDGO9K7tnabLgxZyyWe8YXwtcDjX5wIUSKWDD3t_ahUlflyRKQRzLk7Lr08JD3Tilh8BUddeg12MGp3uSWMSypWPSMZAIX-NeNpQZGiAykfHdi3a6wrziKzjxdP4xI--KcJ5bokJTsxnX8TAMMX6ogeb6QxnYwXKc_ZuQMt_JOzlWIGLPW9FkzX-PSRbhE2NBRWOcWhShErfZdC4LS9Gp63qKxxlItrGDaCZoE31r4f7ZMW1SLpQiCrVK2dQCanTECk9P_dknPFAJk5B1xMQXtKsRZ06-i8sM29a79T1b5I4yIyZrCIXTACFBsRlrcThJUkchi4rKuaQSwqsFVWHNjmpEIvNeEb7nPKhfwjCiTeNx-ydsYCYLQtPFRuCBQxu4BxbLuBgk
Re: Solar Fuse Reply #7 – January 03, 2021, 05:17:53 pm That looks right, but I would first check to see if you have any others that size in the coach, perhaps at differing amperages, and if so order an assortment.Steve 1 Likes
