Welcome to the group.  You can do a search for almost any subject and the one on tires was pretty extensive.  I just replaced all 7 tires on my 30IB and put on Toyo tires on the recomendation of my mechanic.

Wow, those are old tires.
You will find Michelin recommended here by many.
I put Hercules Terra Trac on mine.  Make sure the load range is E.

One starting point to compare choices of appropriate tires is the Tire Rack website; this link offers several choices of LT225/75R/16 load range E tires. A tire shop, a chain or local business, should be able to order the selected tires (request the freshest manufacturing date and matched dates) and install them.

https://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.jsp?zip-code=12345&width=225/&ratio=75&diameter=16&rearWidth=255/&rearRatio=40&rearDiameter=17

Many prefer Michelin; the latest tire is the Agilis Crossclimate. Others prefer Kumho, Toyo, BF Goodrich commercial, Hankook (now standard on Ford trucks and vans), or another brand. If you live near a Les Schwab tire shop, they sell their own "brand" of tires, made to their specs; you could check to see who manufactures their tires. A local Costco may also be able to order and install tires, but many Costcos will not work on trucks, RVs, or other large vehicles.

As suggested, doing a search of the forum will bring up dozens of posts on this topic; hover over the "little house" icon on the home page of the forum and click "Search".

From the description, I suspect that the tires are the originals; if so, I'm surprised that they haven't shredded off the rims. You may have other maintenance and repair jobs on this LD, but  new tires are definitely a critical priority.

YMMV, but with 19-year-old tires, it probably won't be much.  ;)

With 19 year-old tires, one might assume that a lot of other time-related items that need work, such as the radiator and heater hoses, the serpentine belt, and any other rubber items. The transmission, steering, brake and axle fluids may be original.
The brake fluid, if original, will be loaded with moisture it absorbs it from the air. The water will cause rust that can cause damage throughout the brake system.  A total brake fluid flush is in order.
I would definitely want a very confident mechanic to go over it with a fine comb, checking every system. Time can do a lot of damage and cause deterioration of parts and fluids.  Get it checked out before going anywhere, hopefully with new tires.
Low mileage rigs can be a great find or money pit, depending on how it was maintained during it's obviously long periods of sitting.

We have run Michelins tires for the last 25 years and 190,000 miles of LDIng, they have served us well.

Welcome to the forum!

I was in your shoes a year ago and had to get new tires before driving my 31' home to Ohio from Oregon. Thanks to the help of others here on the board I chose Toyo and so far so good.  Thank you Parussky, Gini Free, and everyone else who helped me!

I would to offer some additional advice to also install extension valves at the same time if you don't already have them. I got mine from Borg call 800-300-2674 and ask for Kelli. She went above and beyond to help me. Next advice is to make sure those installing the extenders read the instructions before installing.  My installers did not and had to redo them.

Enjoy your LD!
