Most/some folks know a bit about the treatment by the British of POW 'rebels' during the American Revolution but how many of you know what happened to the British and German POWs at the hands of the first Americans? Read this to find out and learn a little of our history.

I will definitely read another.A sort-of travelogue of Frazier’s explorations of and love for America’s Great Plains region. His story-telling is quirky and unpredictable. His writing is beautiful.

The main character is a ranger. So there's a lot of nature and history while you're trying to figure out who dunnit. There are many books in the series. You can probably guess I like the nature part....I was just referred to another author named CJ Box, who also writes mysteries in outdoor settings. The first one was ok, so I'll try another.My favorite so far is an author named Louise Penny, who writes a series based on a small village outside of Quebec. I read all 16 or so, can and now I've got to be patient as she writes the next one. As someone who has lived in Greater Boston for most of my life, I find his descriptions of the western states very interesting. Does anyone have a problem with staying awake while simultaneously driving and listening to audible books, podcasts, etc.?I find it almost impossible to stay awake when listening to or watching a documentary, even when the narrator describes scenes in intriguing ways. I call it the "David Attenborough Syndrome". And this isn't just because I am now old and decrepit! When we were traveling in the 90's in our 22' TK, we had a full set of Nature-type 8-track cassettes (!) that were narrated so beautifully by Mr. Attenborough. It's a fascinating book about chaos, improbability, the probability of improbability, and fallacy of "expertness" in modern society. I became curious about randomness and chaos as applied to daily life a few years back when I rode a bicycle from San Francisco to Oklahoma via US 50 through Nevada. I found it utterly exasperating but curious how I could ride for long periods of time on straight, open roads and encounter no perilous traffic at all, then suddenly find myself going along through a mountain pass with a guard rail on the right, and several large trucks passing me in both directions on the left. It seemed to happen a lot --- I think! 1 Likes
