RV Air Filter Suggestions
We’re beginning to see more & more smoke.  And there’s not a quick and easy way around it for us.  So has anyone considered an air filter?  I’m looking at some on Amazon and some of the reviews are quite favorable.

After several summers in a row of smoke and fires, two years ago, I bought a small HEPA filter for the LD. We carry it in the summer.
It uses about 60-watt @120-VAC, more suitable to parks with power but we can run it overnight on battery power if necessary.
It has worked fine the couple of times it has been tested at home during brush fires.

It has replaceable filters.
Amazon.com: Guardian Technologies GermGuardian Air Purifier Filter FLT4100...

I'm sure there are others available now that may be better, time for a bit of researching.

At home with a bigger HEPA filter running.

I use Coway air purifiers in the house, but they're too big for the LD; this one looks like it might be a good choice for the motorhome:

We have a similar unit, a Levoit Core 300 in our bus.  Barbara feels that it has helped minimize her sinus related headaches.
Our model is rated at 45W and the one Joan listed at only 28W, so that would be a consideration if planning on running one on an inverter while boondocking.

Lower wattage filters usually have lower airflow, check the literature to see how big a room it is designed to clean.
Our filter has a UV light that can be on or off, as well as a three speed fan.

With the smoky air at home, our big HEPA filter has been running continuously for days.

The smoke from all of the forest fires has been getting worse in the Pacific Northwest. I stopped at a Home Depot and bought one of these: Honeywell PowerPlus True HEPA 200 sq ft Allergen Remover Air Purifier It is a larger than I would like, but it is lightweight, does a great job filtering the air, is very quiet (unless it is in Turbo mode) and it can easily run off of an inverter.

The “challenge” we’ve facing is several air filters on Amazon are sold out or the delivery date is outside our travel dates (10 days).  So we don’t know where we’ll be because of smoke, road closures, etc.  All the stores around Port Townsend are sold out.  We’ll probably find an air filter once we get away from the smoke.

In addition, our Rig has taken 2 serious rock hits to the windshield and I’ve been trying to get that resolved with our insurance company.  But regardless, we’re getting a new windshield when we return home in November.

So that’s what I know, which isn’t much.

Here's hoping you carry 100% coverage on your glass, I do. I've had to have three windshields replaced, two on E350 vans and one on the LD. I have never paid anything out of pocket with State Farm.
