Follow Up - 3 Projects
Margee is baking bread in her new cast iron kettle which gives me some time to follow up on 3 projects.

Several years ago we installed luxury vinyl planks in our LD.  We hired a residential flooring company which did the job at half the price of any RV installers.  There’s quite a bit of online debate about the best way to install interlocking planks.  We decided to use the glue recommended by the flooring manufacturer with our “click & lock” planks.  We’ve not had any problems with movement or lifting.   In conclusion the flooring has held up extremely well.

Several years ago Margee installed a backsplash in the kitchen area with a product call “Smart Tiles.” (One of the solo women on the LDO Forum had recommended these light weight tiles).  Initially I was concerned that an adhesive backed tile would not adhere to the walls of our Rig.  Recently I was installing new kitchen blinds and I tried to remove a piece of the Smart Tile for a bracket.  I couldn’t peel off the tile.  In conclusion the backsplash has held up extremely well.

About a year ago we had an automotive clear vinyl installed on the forward facing house panels next to the cab doors.  In my opinion, these panels are the most susceptible to damage from road debris.  (Sadly, we already had a few hits and I wanted to prevent more).   On this road trip, we’ve taken a damaging gravel hit to the windshield and several none damaging hits to the protective areas.  Not surprisingly the clear vinyl has done a remarkable job of protecting this vulnerable area.  It’s one of the first items we might do on a new LD.

So that’s our follow up on these projects, which we hope are helpful.   And now it’s time for some fresh hot bread with a bit of butter 😍.

"Margee is baking bread in her new cast iron kettle..."

I look back with some fondness and pride to the days when I could cook most everything in my Dutch Ovens, roasts, stews, biscuits, cobblers, etc. I've even offered, with thanks, my surplus to fellow campers. There was one exception however, the time I buried the oven and roast in the ground and then went away to other endeavors while it cooked. We ate cinders that night!  ::)

That product is very similar to what we used.   Sadly I can’t remember the exact name of the vinyl film we used.  But the 3M product should work well.   Hope this helps.
