Where is the antena aux connection?
Recently bought a 1995 23.5 Rear Lounge LD, and it has the antena on the roof which I can crank up and down, but this model doesn't have a specific area in the RV where the tv goes. Just cabinets in the back, with no aux port to connect to.

I noticed the TV aux port on the outside of the RV which I have seen videos of people saying that this is actually in case the camp site provides cable, one would connect it there. So more of a line in.

Does anyone with the same model have any aux ports INSIDE the RV?

Mine is newer, so I will be guessing.

The outside cable connection is for an amplified cable TV coax connection.  You cannot use it with your roof antenna.

The roof antenna has a pre-amplifier on it.  That is powered by a 12 volt charge carried to it via its coax cable.  Inside your rig, you should find a coax socket with a little, almost invisible button near the coax socket.  That button turns on the pre-amp on the antenna.  Mine also has a rocker switch near the coax outlet plate.  For my antenna to work I need to have that rocker switch on and the little button pressed.  When that is done, there will be a tiny green light next to the coax outlet.

You can now use a coax cable to connect from that outlet to the TV's antenna input.  Make sure your antenna is up.  Do a channel scan on the TV to look for signals.  Then, move the TV alignment about 30 degrees and repeat the scan.  Move it another 30 degrees and scan.  The alignment with the most channels will be close to the alignment you want to use.

Good luck.

I suspect that Ken is correct.  On our 2019 MB we have an amplified TV Coax connection that runs directly to the television (standard equipment), and another Coax connection for a portable satellite dish antennae (we asked the mothership to install the later at time of order).  We were advised that we would need a separate cable run for the satellite source - I've forgotten why.  I seem to be trading memory  for Gray hair!

Warren, cable and satellite operate on different frequencies.  A cable box will not decode satellite signals, and a satellite box will not decode a cable signal.  So, different cable runs.

Hey Ken thanks for the details, however on your message, you mentioned the coax outlet inside the rig. where exactly is that in yours? I can't find anywhere to plug inside

Tom, I have a Midbath.  In the Midbath my TV is installed on a swiveling bracket that is attached to the wall on the driver's side between the back of the bathroom and the front of the couch area.  Above the couch on the left is a cabinet with no doors but several cubicles.  My outlet is on a flat panel at the forward bottom of that cubicle area.

thanks, that makes sense! my layout is different, but I would expect it to be around the same area of the antenna crank which is close to where you mentioned on a MB.....

Is this not your floor plan?

Tom, our floor plans are different but the floor plan that Charles posted shows a TV placement over the right couch.  That is where your outlet is probably located.  So you know what to look for here are two pics of my outlet.

Tom, if your plan is truly the rear lounge, with twin barrel chairs, I would suspect the intended TV placement is the same as our front lounge. The antenna port and 12V plug are on the side of the table between the chairs, for placing the TV on the table and watching from the couch - the most comfortable viewing arrangement of any of the floorplans. However, with no permanent mounting location, you must stow the TV elsewhere for travel. Luckily, current models are very flat, and for ours, I have a modified satchel fastened to the wall behind one of the chairs where it resides. I made a custom mount to attach it on the table minimizing its intrusion on table space.

I think you are right!!! that must be where it should be! would you mind taking a picture of yours?

On ours, the owners decided to replace the chairs and that table are in order to make a twin bed in that area which means they cut the cord from that space :'(

I have taken the twin bed out and put the chairs back, and now I can see the cut wires for the tv console.....

Going to need to pay h this up quick in case they are live wires!

Pretty close, however that must be a newer model with the TV mounted on the corner, mine looks more like this one (which btw seems to have narrower too compartments):
I see. I have never seen that older version of the shorty Rear Lounge. Glad you found the cable.

I’m guessing these models are the precursor to the TK?

No, I believe that the 23 1/2' was offered in both Twin King and Rear Lounge configurations back then. Not sure if Front Lounge was also offered then. LD used to build a very broad array of versions and on different chassis then, not like now (Ford is the only real C-class chassis produced now).

Here are shots from our rig - several mods here, but you can see the TV jack. Behind it are typically three cables with F connectors. One goes to the Winegard antenna, and needs to also supply 12V to the preamp. One goes to the city cable connection outside. The third one, if it exists,  goes to another TV jack unit elsewhere in the rig. Your missing TV jack here should have a 12V socket and female F connector on the panel, and a small switch. On the backside, it should be wired to 12V to send to the antenna and supply power the 12V socket. In the picture, you can see part of the satchel where the TV is stored for travel.
