Holding entry door open in wind

We have the standard metal “clip” for holding our entry door open. Doesn’t work in wind. Any other solutions that actually work?

I’m thinking of one of the metal T latches that fit into a slotted fitting. One piece goes on the door, one on the wall of the coach. Lift the T, drop it in the slot on the other fitting. Door shouldn’t move much. Any advice about how to install one of those?

Silly me, we have a bungee cord to hold the door. One end on the handle the other on the awning support. Store the cord on the shelf above the door.

Terry, I had thought of this also as I never liked the metal clip at the top of the door. I always felt that clip was one factor of the door warping out at the top over time. If you do install the "T" part of the latch, attach it close to the lower window frame where the is framing wood behind the aluminum skin. This also makes the door being secured in the middle to avoid any possible warping. Then attach the slotted part to the latch to the door where it fits the best. If the "T" was on the door it could rattle a lot when using the door so that is why the above suggestion. When driving the "T" could vibrate in the wind therefore some type of rubber cushion around it would help. Just my thoughts. I also bought one of these "T" metal latches but never 'Got-A-Round-Tuit' installation before selling our RB. Don't even considering getting a plastic "T" latch. They break too easily.

Me, too. Looped through the metal door stop and the door handle. The door stop on my '02 is on the coach side just behind the door handle.

I’ve been using a bungee but it broke in yesterday’s very strong winds aligned perfectly to place maximum force on the door. Maybe I just need a better one.

My solution is this magnetic one. I replaced the original after the latch part broke and pulled loose from the door. Not sure how this will hold up to high wind because I just recently installed it after my last journey in Ophelia.
