Mike and Linda, will you be picking up your new Lazy Daze at the factory?

  Lynn
Two different RB's, although Mike has told me his will be green, just like mine.  The usual way is to do the walk through/education tour at the factory and sign all the papers at the factory.  Then, because I'm not a CA resident, I'll be using the services of the ICC driver to ferry me and my shiny new LD to AZ, where I'll sign the final paper and it'll be mine.

We will be doing the same as Linda as we live in Florida.  Sales tax in our county is 6.5%. Just a bit better than CA.  All I have to do is transfer the tag from the old LD to the new one at a minimal fee before going west.

LDOF member LindaB recently requested I post a list of what extras we ordered for the new Rear Bath we expect to take possession of this fall. Linda also wanted to know what modifications/enhancements I plan on doing this winter. We ordered the green/white exterior with the tan upholstery and cherry wood finish interior. This is what our old RB "Monty" was and we like it.  The name "Monty" stayed with the coach per the new owners.  Our new coach will be named "Villa Verde."

LD options LD we added:
 1) 2-Solar panels
 2) Bilstein shocks
 3) Tan ultraleather cab seats & woodgrain dash
 4) Sirius radio package
 5) 12VDC battery disconnect
 6) Backup camera.  We will mostly be towing our Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk
 7) Outside shower. Again we occasionally had a good use for this. When dry camping I was able to easily put water into a tall bucket which couldn't be done inside without a lot of trouble and mess.
 8) Heated power cab mirrors.  Very glad I had that on Monty as it came in handy many times over the 10 years we had the coach.
 9) Electric step.  this is good to have on a very rainy day. The only problem I ever had on Monty's step was a stripped gear box which was easily replaced.

Unlisted options LD agreed to:
 1) One 120VAC outlet under the left front overhead cabinet. To be used for DVD player when on shore power.
 2) Access doors under the two dinette benches.
 3) Porch light on outside of upper left rear wall above utility hookups and sewer dump. Switch is at coach entry door.
 4) Place a 'T' valve in fresh water line beside toilet. This will be the water supply for a [ Luxe Bidet Neo 185 ] (see Amazon) that attaches under the toilet seat. We had this in Monty and it saves a lot of toilet paper. There is enough room for the control handle right of the toilet in the RearBath however I don't think this is true for the MidBath.

My future Modifications and enhancements to be done this winter:
 1) Big Foot leveling jacks.  We wouldn't be without these. There are many reasons such as leveling in pouring rain. Lifting a wheel(s) off the ground (with jack stands) for tire changing. Tilting the coach to dump 'Lake Newton.'  I am getting the "Auto Central System" which has one pump with automatic & manual leveling controls and lifetime warranty on the hydraulic cylinders. I will request the push button control board (in a plastic housing) be on the end of an umbilical cable coming from under the back of the driver's seat and long enough to reach outside the coach if necessary.  I had the one pump BigFoot manual control on Monty and only had one issue with a leaking seal on one jack over 10-years.  I will (and had with Monty) request powering the jack pump from the engine battery . I mostly always ran the engine when running the jack's pump. This keeps from draining the coach batteries some when arriving at a camp site.  In Monty I later configured the pump power DC supply via the output from a heavy duty marine 2-battery switch. This gave me the option of using the engine or coach batteries for the jacks. It was good to have but I never needed to use the coach batteries for the jacks.  I will also add glass arched bubble levels placed on dash (left to right) and drivers door (forward & aft) if I chose to manually level the coach.
 2) Add Camco 'Quickie Flush' to the black holding tank. I had this on all six past motorhomes and wouldn't be without it.
 3) Add two additional Lifeline 6VDC batteries with disconnect switch. In Monty I had the 2 extra batteries placed on a back shelf in the outside left front storage compartment. I may do that again or if DW will give up the storage under the front dinette seat they could go there. I never had a problem with low voltage even dry camping for over a week.
 4) Maxx Air roof vent covers. This allows using the vents in rain and gives UV protection to the original vent covers.
 5) Progressive Dynamics Surge Protector. This will be placed behind the converter under the refrigerator and wired between the converter and the shore power/generator transfer switch. This allows for protection from both power sources. The remote LED display attaches to the cabinet just above the furnace air intake door.
 6) Trik-L-Start power starting battery/maintainer. I had this in Monty and never had a low engine battery. This depends on what LD now does with the (if any) connection between the engine & coach batteries.
 7) An 800 watt inverter with remote on/off switch placed under the dinette for computer and small appliance battery chargers.
 8) Upward facing pancake fan for outside back of refrigerator to increase airflow. Small pancake fan inside of the refrigerator to better circulate air past the cooling fins. This will be powered from the power supply wire to the interior light.
 9) We Boost cellular repeater/amplifier. In Monty this was placed in the cabinet above the dinette with the antenna wire going through the roof there. It will be powered by the 12V outlet at the forward end of the cabinet by the TV. Outside antenna placement to be determined later. Inside antenna will be on the wall near the TV mount.
 10) LED lights placed at the front and rear of the engine compartment, inside the generator housing, and above the gasoline tank for rodent control. Like many others I too had a problem with rodents nesting and chewing in these locations. After I did the light installations I had NO more problems with rodents.
 11) Borg brass tire valve extenders.
 12) TST tire monitors with color display. There will also be the TST repeater taped to the inside rear window powered by switched power from the toilet overhead light. There were a few times in the past I would loose the signal from the Cherokee sensors when I forgot to turn on the repeater.
 13) I will add aromatic cedar wood paneling to the back wall of the coat closet using brass nails.
 14) I will add cork lining to all the cabinet shelves to slow items from shifting. Also to the floor of the closet.
 15) Wrap around Astro turf door step rug on outside step. This helps slow down the amount of dirt is tracked into the coach.
 16) Flood alert alarms. One sensor on the floor next to the water pump and the other one on the floor under the kitchen sink.
  17) Stick up shower towel bar and hooks on the shower wall.
 18) Magazine rack on wall next to bath sink.
 19) Fused #10 gauge wire in a protected sheath from the engine battery to an added trailer light 7-blade connector (replacing the 6-pin LD connector).  The power goes from the 7-pin socket via a 6' umbilical cable (available from Tractor Supply) to the towed Cherokee battery to supply the draw from the SMI tow brake system.

Well, that is all I can think of so far. I'm always open for any other suggestion or observations.
Linda, I hope this helps,
Mike C

I talked to Todd about this with Orwan.  I sent him the 7 pin plug early on, and it was installed during construction.  10A fuse went into the SMI wiring on the tow'd.

YMMV

Well we have decided to add our name to the waitlist on Monday. I understand it is an 18 to 24 month wait but I imagine it is well worth it. I would love it if others shared their experience with the waitlist and everything it entails. I am so excited!

Regards

I am talking to Todd for 3+ years. Due to other travels, I was not ready to take motorhome delivery before the end of 2020.
If I am at your place, I will find directly from Mothership on where I am on the list. Good luck.

Maybe I'm missing something, but is there a reason why a person couldn't just call Todd and ask his/her status on any of the "lists" that LD now apparently has in play?

I doubt that LD will ever provide basic ordering-related information on a recorded message any more than they will accept credit cards or change many, if any, of their other MOs, so calling and talking with Todd would seem to be the most accurate and current source of information.

YMMV, as always.

Wow. I've never heard of that long before hearing something.

Have you called to find out what's going on?

I've only been waiting 10 months (August 2019). Confirmed with Todd a few weeks back that I'm still on the list. He indicated that, if we decide to proceed, we are looking at delivery sometime after the first of the year. It's a process . . .

Check photo #14, above the kitchen area, the ceiling appears to be sagging, the usual result of a roof leak.

Also the ceiling view of the swamp cooler, picture 12, has loose and falling 'white ceiling layer' material. I wouldn't trust to walk on that roof area. A fixer upper for sure. Oregon with real rainfall.....     As Larry would say, a real 'money pit'. Unless you were really a dedicated fixer, with a lot of time on your hands.    RonB
