Choosing Options June 21, 2020, 12:37:09 pm Here's my list so far for a new 27 MB.$4,000 worth:Driver Assist packageBattery Disconnect SwitchBilstein ShocksSecond Solar PanelBackup CameraWe thought about the outdoor shower and electric step but reading here there are issues with the step and folks not using the shower.I've read that some have requested 2 additional 12VDC outlets. Where, on a 27 MB, are good placements? I want to ask for this.Thanks, TedON EDIT:Do the new rigs come with solid tire valve extenders?

I thought it did. Perhaps it’s an option. I like our Tire Minder. Parts are easily replaced. Factory (Ford) installed TPMS sensors are inside the rim, I believe, and can be a costly fix if a sensors dies.We have the outside shower. I think I’ve used it at least once during each of our journeys. Great for washing doggy paws, rinsing shoes and feet. All manner of uses. That’s my take on the item. I ordered a RB, so the placement is different than in a MB, but I added one over the drivers couch near the front and one in the end of the cabinet by the right side overhead area. Standard is by the dinette and I think somewhere in the kitchen.I also ordered the upgraded mirror, not because it is heated, but because of the remote control inside the vehicle. Todd said the standard mirrors don't have driver's seat controls....you have to get out and mess with them.HTH,Linda 3 Likes

Mirror upgrade - You pay $750 up front and adjust the mirrors to 'just right the first time' for the next 10-20 years of ownership.3. Re: Choosing Options Reply #13 – June 21, 2020, 04:59:31 pm Just a thought; unless things have changed since about 2009 MB, the outside shower is on the driver side. Open the kitchen cabinet under the sink and you could see the back of it. If you are washing dogs, as we did, it is OK. But it you want to rinse, dry and dash in.....that will be a somewhat longer dash than from one conveniently located by the door.We had an electric step and liked it. We did have to replace the motor once, but still found it worth while.Heated mirrors... will you be traveling east? It can be really nice to have them on a cold, foggy morning. (We're in GA) Come to think of it, it doesn't have to be cold.We had the Bilstein shocks and I thought the ride was quite harsh. Then again, when we were in the Badlands, and the normal wind speed was at least 15mph, we didn't feel it much. Don't know if it was the shocks alone or not. Of course, everybody's different.I do wish we had more 12v outlets. We had (and still have) the Endless Breeze 12v fan and would have liked more places to plug it in. A couple of more sockets where they'd do the most good.JoelRegarding the mirrors, in our case, DW and I will be sharing the driving and typically have slightly different side mirror settings so it would be worth it to us to have the power adjustment function. We also like heated mirrors as it can get a bit nippy where we live and travel.

Re: Choosing Options Reply #18 – June 22, 2020, 01:28:27 am We have a 2013 MB. We had extra outlets added, but I don’t recall which are standard and which were added, so I’ll mention all of them. There are both AC and DC above the dinette table, and both above the hinged table in the bedroom.

Re: Choosing Options Reply #20 – June 22, 2020, 07:39:36 am I am in the camp that likes the optional mirrors. I use them when pulling up for gas, and backing into a tight spot. On the MidBath the gasoline fill cap is just above the grey tank outlet. I adjust my mirror so I can see the small cap, I pull up until the small cap and fae pump hose are both in the mirror. After the fillip I adjust the mirror so it is in the normal position so I San keep an eye on the tail swing as I leave the gas island. When backing up into a parking spot I’ll put the view from the mirror on a object of concern and adjust the mirror (while stopped) as I back up. 4 Likes
