"How often...?"

Common wisdom says every ten years, under benign circumstance!

If yours was resealed 8-10 years ago it's due.   :o

It might need it again or ?
What about resealing the windows and end caps, both are major places to find leaks.?
Deailed photos are needed if you want opinions.

Are you asking about roof seams being sealed with Eterna-Bond or LD factory sealant?

How long does EternaBond® last? Because EternaBond® is made using MicroSealant Technology®, depending on surrounding conditions, EternaBond® has an estimated life expectancy of 18-35 years if applied correctly. The "pre-activated" shelf life of EternaBond®, stored correctly, is 5 years!

This is what a factory reseal looks like.

My 2002 had been done once before and wasn’t a very nice job. I had it redone last year.

Hi Duro (Lynn). The roof seals look good along with your new shower dome.  Yellowing of your 18 year old escape hatch cover, tells me that it must be getting really brittle.  Mine looked good until I gently bumped it. Acted like a Pringles potato chip, and broke into a bunch of small pieces.   RonB

Yea Ron that hatch is on my list LoL. With how bad my shower skylight was I’m sure you’re correct about the hatch. I had a appointment to have some work done but the virus shut the place down. They just reopened and I’m on the “list” to get in the shop.

Hi Lynn;  If you can handle the shower skylight, the escape hatch is pretty easy. Only the lid needs to be replaced. The frame and crank assembly stays.  Heng has what I thought was a good match, but for my 2001 MB, I bought one from the mothership. Very easy to change. Just an hour or so. On my TK I changed the inside handle to a knob instead of a crank. I seemed to get what little hair I have left caught in the crank handle. The 2001 retained the crank handle.  RonB

When is a reseal needed?  This depends on  exposure to elements  (heat, cold, water, sunlight, etc.).

IMO - everyone should thoroughly check their seals regularly - anywhere two pieces of roofing/siding meet, all places there is a protrusion thru the roof/walls (vents, Air Conditioner, windows, doors, antennas, etc.).  Looking for quality of seal (any pulling away - shrinkage, holes developing, etc.).

How often might depend on how fast it is degrading (again elements exposure).  But I would suggest yearly until you  have a good feel for it.  Too early, you just wasted an hour - no big deal.  Too late, and water gets inside your rig.

This should also be done on our sticks and bricks homes!  and yup often people don't do it. If they are lucky and get their house painted regularly, the painter will check and re-caulk as needed, but many times painters don't bother with caulk.  So really we need to check those seals also.

Same for inside caulking around kitchens, tubs, showers etc.  - For RVs and stick and brick homes.
