Roof Medium
After a reasonable amount of research, I have not found an answer to the following question. What roof medium was used on a 1990 LD?
TY.
LD 22', 1989 Custom Build. Chassis 1990 Chevy Van G30, 5.7l.

'Roof medium'? If you mean an LD's roof composition/material, the answer is aluminum; the thickness of the sheeting was increased to 40mm (from 30mm) with 2008 models, per the 'Changes By Year' document.

I think you meant “40mil (from 30mil) with 2008 models”  ;D

Thank you! I looked up the differences in measurement; 40 mil is 1.016 mm.

My question was not clear. Apologies. I meant EPDM or.....?

As Joan stated, LDs have sheet aluminum roofs built over a wood and steel frame, no rubber or any other roofing product has ever been used on production models

Thank you! I looked up the differences in measurement; 40 mil is 1.016 mm.

In this country, sheet plastic is normally measured in mils, and sheet metal is measured in 'gauge' numbers.
Sheet Metal Gauge Chart | Metal Supermarkets - Steel, Aluminum, Stainless,...
The sheet aluminum used in LD's roofs measures 40mils, 26 gauge is the closest size.

When LD first upgraded to the wide-body E450s, the aluminum sheet metal used on the roof had to be sourced from Europe, they could not get the metal in wider rolls here and is the reason why it was listed in mils.
The Europeans evidently measure sheet metal differently, using mils instead of a gauge size.
