Most sections of Spokane’s Centennial Trail are very lightly used even in peak season. Putting the same regulations on this side of the Cascades as the west side where it’s very crowded doesn’t make sense. This forum is not geared to be a clearing house for COVID-19 statistics, data, cures, precautions and especially unscientific opinions and conspiracy theories. I've deleted a couple of posts which I judged to be inflammatory and misleading. I (we) don't like to do that and rarely do. These are hard times. The goal is to slow the virus progression down enough that there are enough ICU beds and respirators for those who need them. I haven't seen anything on recovery time - how long does it take to recover someone to where the respirator can be shifted to the next person. Say you have 2 respirators and 8 people are going to need them. If you slow the virus so that only 2 of the 8 are sick at the same time, all 8 will have a reasonable survival chance. If all 8 present at the same time, 6 will die from a lack of resources.The El Dorado County Health Officer issued a directive that driving to Tahoe to play in the snow (See link here) is not considered essential travel and puts the population around Tahoe at risk. Washington just closed all forest roads and trails which begs the question, is hunting an essential activity? Many people rely on the spring bear hunt to refill their freezer after a winter of depleting their supply of venison. 1 Likes

They are not allowing anyone to see reservations until middle April (I am guessing that is their closed for sure until date - I expect that to extend). China is now removing some restrictions including their initial hot spots after 2 months. We moved our reservation out a month (someone else had canceled) since that would be over 2 months from when the US started shutting down.Jane

Travelers are to proceed directly from the airport to their designated quarantine location. Only leaving for medical emergencies. Food to be delivered. The information I read hawaiinewsnow.com said the quarantine is in effect indefinitely and anyone breaking the mandate can face a $5,000 fine and up to a year in jail. Although our accommodations are beach-front cottages, we would cancel if the restrictions are still in place. Its about 12X16 and had a dirt floor but was well chinked. I remarked how spoiled we were whining about being quarantined in our by comparison luxurious home with indoor plumbing, television,cell phones, internet and even wood floors. LOLWe are total sissies compared to those people. 6 Likes

I don't blame them.If you think about it, the last thing a small town with maybe one general practitioner needs is to have a bunch of potentially infected outsiders show up. If you think city hospitals are overtaxed (and they are), think about that lone rural GP. It's going to be all they can do to take care of their own townspeople. They won't have the time, equipment, or medications to cope with you if you get sick.Put it this way: how many ventilators do you think there are in Lone Pine or Truth or Consequences? 3 Likes

Naturally you would want to be in the nice place if you are confined to quarters. Not sure what I would do in that situation.
